Mrs. Dale Simmonds, of Goderich recently
graduated from "International Top
Models" school in London. Carolyn will be
working with the "International Top Models
Agency" part time for the present while
continuing with her job at Dunlop's
Pharmacy.
Tracey Wilson, daughter of Larry and Libby
Wilson, graduated from the Early Childhood
Education program at Eanshawe College,
London on June 20, 1986.
Sally Dianne Little, daughter of Harry and
Doris Little graduated from the Correc-
tional Worker Program at Sheridan Col-
lege of Applied Arts and Technology on June
6, 1986.
Chris and Amy Sutton are pleased to an-
nounce that on June 13, 1986 their" father,
George, received a Master of Education
- Degree from the University of Western
Ontario.
Kevin Machan graduated in October, 1985
from the University of Western Ontario with
a'Bachelor of Arts degree in history. He is
presently working with his family at the
Home Hardware in Goderich. He is a son of
Ron and Barbara Machan of Lucknow�,

Stephen Machan graduated June 18, 1986
from Fanshawe College in London. He
received his diploma in mechanical
engineering technology. He has joined his
family at Home Hardware in Goderich. He
is a son of Ron and Barbara Machan of
Lucknow.
Couple marks golden anniversary
at open house and dinner
Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Paines of Meneset
Park, Colborne Township celebrated their
Golden Wedding Anniversary in Burlington,
Saturday, June 14 at art, anniversary dinner
with 25 guests including relatives and
friends with Open House later at their son's
home in Mississauga.
Mr. and Mrs. Paines were married in
Bristol, England in 1936 and came to Canada
in 1952, living in Hamilton for one year and
then Oakville for 21 years where Mr. Paines
worked for the Public Utilities. Mr. and
Mrs. Paines have two sons, one living in
Burlington and one in Mississauga, two
grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
They have returned to England eight times
to visit relatives and friends.
They are fond of Goderich and Meneset
'and have enjoyed 13 happy years in the
area. A special thanks to their family,
friends and neighbours for the lovely cards,
floral arrangements, gifts and good wishes
received making their Golden Wedding An-
niversary a special event long to be
remembered.

celebrated their son Jared's first year Birth-
day with a family get together dinner on
Sunday, June 22nd.
Mr. and Mrs. Richard Buchanan attended
the High School Graduation of their grand-
daughters Lisa and Lesley Buchanan in St.
Thomas on Sunday, June 22.
Colborne Township Sesquicentennial
Celebration days are July 18, 19 and 20. On
Friday at 7:30 p.m. is the unveiling of Col-
borne Connections and at 8:00 p.m. the of-
ficial opening of Jolly Miller Theatre at Col-
borne Central Auditorium. At 9 p.m, is the
evening entertainment with - Rudy Meeks,
four time fiddler Champion with his band
and square dance caller.
Saturday the Parade starts at 11:30 a.m.
so pack a family picnic lunch, bring your
lawn chair and come for the day. At 1:00
p.m. historical and school displays; 2:00
p.m. sports program - horse shoe pitching,
tug of war, barrel race, kite contest, arm
wrestling, log sawing, bag tying, bale throw-
ing, nail hammering, etc; 4:00 p.m. Sky
Harbour Model Airplane Show on
playground. Don't forget the beef barbecue
starting at 5 p.m. and then the entertain-
ment which will include; the Colborne
Choir, Foghorns, GDCI Jazz Choir, Jolly
Miller Theatre and Walter Ostenak and his
band which will be a special event for the
young and young at heart beginning at 9
p.m.
Sunday marks the climax with a Pancake
and Sausage breakfast 9-11 a.m. and 10:00
a.m., soap box derby and riding .lawn
mower race and, at 2:00 p.m., a church ser-
vice with Colborne men who have entered
the ministry participating.
The balloon release will be the end of a
Sesquicentennial Celebration for Colborne
Township residents. Plan to attend. Get
your tickets 'and a brochure of the events
without delay.
