We depend on them once a week, 52 weeks a year, to
deliver our newspapers. And so do you. They're our
carriers, boys and girls making sure your paper reaches
you. It's not often we take time from our daily concerns
to say "Thanks for a job well done," but for Carrier Day
we would like to extend our sincere appreciation to all
of you who complete the final link --weekly.

In Goderich Men's Industrial Football

Bogle allowed only four hits and struck out
six for the win. Oriole Pitchers Paul Jewell
and Hob Plunkett also allowed four hits but
four runs were still scored. Phil Main
scored twice and had two hits as did Dan
Durst to lead Goderlch Tire offensively.

" On Sunday the Juniors scored first but
still lost 7-1 to Denonune's. Grant
Langlolk had a bunt single and eventuall)
scored on a throwing error, but the Juniors
could not keep the high scoring Denoiiune
offence in check for long. Garry Muxlow
again led the attack with a 2-2 night and
Barry Bloch and John Hoy both chipped in
a 2-3 night. MacKinnon walked twice and
scored two runs to help lead l.)enonunes.
The second game was much closer with
Goderich Tire winning It 4-3. Ken Lipner
had a triple in the first inning and was
brought in by Harold Peet, who then
scored on a Mtke Ryan single. Hayter's
finally got one run back in the fourth when
Dave Scholl was batted In by Bill Peters.
Hayter's then took the lead In the- sixth
when Scholl singled and Phil Petrie' -walk-
ed and Myles Murdock and Dave
McDonald batted them in. But Goderich
Tire decided to use a little of the Hayter
formula and they carne back in the top of
the seventh when Dan Durst scored and
then Ken Linnet'. 1 inner• scored on what
looked to be an easy out but the hall took a
crazy bounce against the Hayter's team
and allowed the winning run to be scored.
