Students at Victoria Public School were given just that chance as part of the Young Author's Con- ference held last week. The students were divided into three groups for each specific display area. The Sharing Room was offered to include the bigger books and other co- operative classroom materials. The Book Display—Browse and Brag Gym enabled the children to mingle with others to discuss each other's books, charts, poetry and class stories. In addition, individual classroom areas were made available for sharing of student -authored books. While in the browsing area, students were encouraged to share their stories orally with those who may not be able to read fluently. This was particularly effective for the Kindergarten classes. Doug Yeo, who helped organize the special day, said while allowing the students the opportunity to use their imaginations and write a story, they also were able to share and talk about their projects with others. "It's a unique educational experience for them," he said.
