The first vice president, Helen Stoll presided. Marie Buchanan called the roll call with 16 members and five visitors in attendance. Jane Muegge, rural organization specialist gave a detitenstration on scarf ty- ing, showing the many ways scarves can be worn to brighten a basic dress or suit. • Ladies practised on the scarfs they had brought. It was decided that the Institute would • cater for the Colborne Central School Graduation Banquet on June 24 at 6 p.m. Tiger Dunlop Women's Institute members attending the District Annual Huron West in Belgrave on May 26 were Mary Brindley, Marie Buchanan, Cora Sherwood, Helen Stoll and Mary Clairmont. Mr. and Mrs. Russell Brock had their son Bill and wife and_ children Jeffrey and Karen visiting them recently. Jeffrey will be leaving this Monday for New York where he will be taking a position with Solomon Bros. Real Estate Brokers on Wall Street. Mr. and Mrs. Eric Reahurn have returned home after a month visiting with their son , Jim at Lake Harbor, Baffin Island. They are eo the proud grandparents of a new grandson at Frobisher Bay Hospital. On their way home they visited their sonSteve and family at Sundridge. Ruth McMann, of Mildmay and Lucy Yates of Edmonton visited Mrs. G. Kaitting last week. Mrs. G. Hospital, Goderich and University Hospital, London. Mrs. G. Kaitting visited her sister Beatrice Geiger in Zurich over the weekend. A hearty welcome to Mrs. Terence (Ed- na) Hunter, formerly of Colborne, who has been living, with her daughter and husband in Seaforth and has returned to Goderich in the senior apartments on West Street. Her many friends will welcome her back and pay her a visit. Sympathy of the community is extended to the family of the late William (,Bill) McCann. Sincere sympathy to Norma Proctor and family in the death of her grandson Scott Kenneth McNiff. Colborne Township Recreation . Commit- tee had their last card party for the season on Thursday, May 29 wtien winners were Cora Ceasar, Cecil Pollock, Mary Brindley and Peter De Groot. On Wednes- day her daughter and son-in-law Bruce and Louise Millar of Palmerston called for a visit on their way to lint Clark to help Margaret Morton move. -' On Saturday, Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Robb went on a bus trip to Canada's Wonderland as it was Bus Drivers Appreciation Day. They enjoyed their day very much. Charles and Mayme Wilkins attended the 10th annual Johnstone picnic on Sunday at Brookside school. Barbara Wilkins of Paris was home for a couple' of days with Charles, Mayme, Elizabeth and Ken Wilkins. Barbara Wilkins has just returned home from a 24 day vacation to China, Japan and other points of interest in the east. Barb says she enjoys the good Canadian meals after the Chinese fare. She's a wee sister for Richard. The wee girl was born on Fri- day May 16. The news around Amberley speculates that the Kintail School on Highway 21 will open its doors this summer. It won't be used for learning, but will feature antiques, crafts and ' other things of interest. It is understood the doors .will be open on Satur- day, June 7. North Pacific Coast Indians are topic at UCW meeting Irene Todd and her group were in charge when the Evening Unit of North Street United Church Women met for their May meeting. Todd read a poem and also gave informa- tion about the North Pacific Coast Indians.
