HARBOR {REPORT
The Algorail arrived light from Sarnia on
May 19 and cleared harbour on the same
day, bound for Detroit with a load of salt.
The Algowood arrived from Cleveland,
light, on May 23 and cleared Goderich Har-
bour the next day with a load of salt bound
for Valleyfied, Quebec and Montreal.
The Algoport arrived light from Erie on
May 25 and left for Montreal the next day
with a load of salt.
CIVIC CORNER
On Thursday, May 29 at 7 p.m,, LACAC
will meet in the Mayor's office at town hall.
On Friday, May 30 at 11 a.m., the
Maitland Cemetery Board will meet at the
cemetery.
Qn Monday, June 2 at noon, the Goderich
parks and waterfront committee will meet
• at town hall.
On Tuesday, ,,June 3 at noon, the tourist
committee will meet at town hall.
On June 3, at 4:30 p.m., the Day Nursery
committee will meet at the Mayor's office at
the town hall.
On Wednesday, June 4 at 1:15 p.m., the
traffic committee will meet at the town hall.

1986 attained her Ph.D (Doctor of
Philosophy) in Computer Science, at the.
convocation of the Technical University of
Nova Scotia in Halifax. Her thesis was on
"Extended Sequential Search Model For
Hardware Based Information Retrieval."
She also received a post graduate award —
The Mobil Oil Canada Scholarship in the
Faculty of Engineering. Previously she
achieved the following degrees from the
University of Western Ontario — B.Sc
(Chemistry) ; MSc (Computer Science) ;
MLS (Library & Information Science). She
will present a paper on Computer Science in
West Germany m August. Carolyn married
Dr. Michael Shepherd, lives in Halifax.
They have afamily of three children. She is
a daughter of Dr. and Mrs. W.N. Watters of
Goderich.
