Attention Motorists!
A Few Words of Good Advice
Visit Bill Kirkey, your local Tidy Car

terested in maintaining the appearance and
resale value of your new or used automobile.
This price may seem high if compared to
a competitor's, but when you find out the
details of his fully warranted paint sealant
process, you'll understand why in today's
world "you get what you pay for"!
See Bill Kirkey, he's a representative of a
nation-wide network of dedicated Tidy Car
dealers. You'll never regret it!

Goderich council did not agree to allow
the men's slowpitch league to use in- a
dustrial land for two softball diamonds, as
reported in last week's signal -Star.
The matter was referred to the works -
committee which denied the request for in-
dustrial land because there is no
guarantee of length of time and there is no
access or parking available in the in-
dustrial park.
The Commissioner of Works, Ken
Hunter will investigate private land in
town and get back to T.D. Frawley, presi-
dent of the league.

Correction
A headline in last week's Signal -Star sug-
gesting that Shirley Weary was the first
female principal in the county was
misleading.
Weary, though she is the first female prin-
cipal of a secondary school in Huron County,
was preceded by six other female principals
of public schools including Audrey Barlow,
the principal of Queen Elizabeth School,
now known as part of Victoria Public School
in Goderich.

Missionary from Kenya
speaks to Holmesville UCW
HOLMESVILLE - The ladies of
Holmesville U.C.W. held their meeting on
May 13 with special guest Bill Lewis, a mis-
sionary who served in Kenya and with
whom the group has been associated with
since February of 1982.
Elaine Bechtel, opened the meeting with a
prayer and a hymn was sung, accompanied
by Bill Lewis at the piano.
President, qlja,rlotte Norman opened the
business port ' n with a reading. The
minutes for the March and April meetings
wgre read._
Committee reports were given and Phyllis
- Cox reported on the London Conference held
in Stratford in April which she attended.
Bill Lewis introduced Joseph Mophet
Kilioba to speak to the group.
Joseph grew up on a small farm in
western Kenya. He told of the hardships as a
child growing up in that area and finally he
received a good position with the, Kenya
government.
This gave Joseph an opportunity to preach
and he became a powerful school
evangelist. When his Bible study is com-
pleted in New York State, he will return to
Kenya to continue preaching and overseeing
the National Missionairies in the Kenya
outreach.
Following Joseph's talk, a rousing talent
auction was held with Mr. Lewis as auc-
tioneer. Proceeds from the auction were
given to Joseph for his work...
A lunch was served and a social time was
enjoyed by guests and visitors.
