Grade 1 at Colborne Central School has
just finished studying about butterflies. Last
week
each ed planted hope beans, zinnias
andradishes. Theyreallytheir
gardens will grow!
They have also been working very hard on
their Mother's Day surprises!.
Grade 2 children are enjoying spring cen-
tres this month. They are especially in-
terested in animals such as frogs and
polliwogs which are easy to find and learn
about.
Their lima bean seeds grew in water step
by step and when the leaves began to show,
the seeds were planted in soil and taken
home with their seed diaries.
The children are watching for many signs
of spring with all their senses.
Timely Bear is visiting with six of his
friends to help the children learn the time of
day. Keeping charts and graphs, the
weather shows a sunny trend, but a bit on
the cool side.
Two favorite ETM game -songs 'right now
are "A Hunting We Will Go" and "Clickety-
Clickety=Clack". Robbie Bogie' and Wesley
Drennan attended a Woods Workshop for
two days and shared much of their ex-
periences - all positively enjoyed.
Grade 3s at Colborne are about to start a
study of the pioneer community. This will be
a lead up to school wide activities happening
the last week in May and the first two weeks
in June.
Four students, Jana Harman, Cojanna
Bond, Catherine Feagan and Crystal Ribey,
had their books selected . for a regional
authors day on Wednesday, May 14. They
will be attending this with Mrs. McMillen,
the school librarian.
Catherine Feagan and Steven Bogie at-
tended a workshop on "The Woods" on Mon-
day and Tuesday this past week. They
shared their experiences and ideas with the
rest of the class.
Your Hosts, Terry & Heather
McClinchey are looking forward
to serving you.
