Last week each ed planted hope beans, zinnias andradishes. Theyreallytheir gardens will grow! They have also been working very hard on their Mother's Day surprises!. Grade 2 children are enjoying spring cen- tres this month. They are especially in- terested in animals such as frogs and polliwogs which are easy to find and learn about. Their lima bean seeds grew in water step by step and when the leaves began to show, the seeds were planted in soil and taken home with their seed diaries. The children are watching for many signs of spring with all their senses. Timely Bear is visiting with six of his friends to help the children learn the time of day. Keeping charts and graphs, the weather shows a sunny trend, but a bit on the cool side. Two favorite ETM game -songs 'right now are "A Hunting We Will Go" and "Clickety- Clickety=Clack". Robbie Bogie' and Wesley Drennan attended a Woods Workshop for two days and shared much of their ex- periences - all positively enjoyed. Grade 3s at Colborne are about to start a study of the pioneer community. This will be a lead up to school wide activities happening the last week in May and the first two weeks in June. Four students, Jana Harman, Cojanna Bond, Catherine Feagan and Crystal Ribey, had their books selected . for a regional authors day on Wednesday, May 14. They will be attending this with Mrs. McMillen, the school librarian. Catherine Feagan and Steven Bogie at- tended a workshop on "The Woods" on Mon- day and Tuesday this past week. They shared their experiences and ideas with the rest of the class.
