enjoyable
For some dutch immigrants,
the memories of the hardships,.
the long, crowded boat ride, the
re -adjustment to a strange,
new Canadian culture and,
-roost of all, leaving behind their
homeland will stay with them
for a lifetime.
But, for others, the immigra-
tion to Canada had little, if any,
accompanying hardships. For
Herman Reinink and his fami-
ly, who came to Canada with
the second wave of dutch im-
migrants in 1967, coming to
Canada was as simple as boar -
.ding a plane.
"The other immigrants told
us 'you didn't immigrate, you
moved', said Wilma Reinink,
who along with her husband
Herman operate a poultry
operation outside of
Londesboro.
