of the Huron Real Estate Board, was one of
more than -130 members of The Canadian
Real Estate Association ( CREA) who par-
ticipated in the association's national
political action committee programme here
on April 15 and 16. The programme featured
addresses by leading parliamentarians and
meetings with most of Canada's MPs.
While in Ottawa, Fitzsimmons had an op-
portunity to voice concerns directly to,MP
Murray Cardiff, Huron -Bruce, about the
federal deficit and its effects on interest
rates, the case for longer term fixed rate
mortgages, and the need to entrench proper-
ty rights in the Constitution. .
Among the key speakers were Don
Blenkard, chairman of the House of Com-
mons Standing Committee on Finance,
Trade and Economic Affairs; Pierre Vin-
cent, parliamentary secretary to Finance
Minister Michael Wilson British Colum-
bia's Intergovernmental Affairs Minister
Garde Gardom 'and House of Commons
' Speaker John Bosley.
"Our efforts were aimed at helping Cana-
dian homeowners and aspiring homeowners
by seeking improved mortgage options,
policies to ensure lower interest rates can
he maintained, and better protection for
property rights," said Fitzsimmons.

Company on Sunday with Jim and
Margaret Errington were Ken and Sandra
Davidson, Scot, Laura and Matthew of port
Lambton. Hazel Webster and Audrey Dale
of Goderich. Roger and Elsie Pannabecker
and Elsie's father, Simon Schroeder of Ab-
botsford, British Columbia, all attended the
Anniversary Services at the Dungannon
United Church.
Sympathy is extended to the family of the
late Thelma (Reed) Brown of Lucknow who
died on Thursday in London. She was 82. She
had lived in Dungannon all her life until
moving to Lucknow.
Another successful flea market was held
on Saturday at the Agricultural Hall with -15
vendors with goods to sell. A lunch booth
was operated by the Youth Group as well as
having a draw on a cabbage patch water bed
cb ,npletg with;,S;atif.Sheets. This was won by
Jackie Henry. The Kingsbridge Brownies
also conducted a draw on a beautiful
children's quilt as well as a Care Bear and
heart cake. The winners were: quilt,'Mrs. F.
Rae, Goderich; Bear cake, Anjou Dhaliwal
