HOLMESVILLE - Worship service was
heid,iri Holnnesville United Church on May 3
with Rev. Bechtel officiating - Jackie Nor-',
man sang.a solo with Verna Lobb at the
piano. Rev. Bechtel talked to the children
before going to classes. Tom Lobb and Scott
Park took the offering.
UCW will meet May 13 and everyone is
asked to bring your articles for the bale.
The next meeting of The Enterprising
Seniors will be May 15 at 8 p.m.
Hohnesville people were saddened this
week at the passing of Mrs. Wallace Avery.
Many attended the 40th anniversary of
Bernice and Stan Mcllwain in the communi-
ty centre.
The Enterprising Seniors met in the com-
munity centre on May 1. Roll call was taken
- and the minutes of the last meeting read
and approved. The treasurer's report and
card report were given by Ed Deeves.
For the evening entertainment Keith and
Elias Charlton put on a fashion show.
Models were Keith Charlton, John Semple
and Edward Deeves with commentator -
Doris Herron.
Shop owner Elias Charlton, drew many
laughs from the group.
Euchre was enjoyed until lunch when a
social time was held.

planned for the sesquicentennial are now
available. Ifyou are planning a special din-
ner or banquet and wish placemats, the Ses-
quicentennial Committee has them
available free of charge. They may be pick-
ed up at the Township Office, Carlow.
The Sesquicentennial Committee is in
need of five billets for Friday, July 18, Rudy
Meeks and his ,band live near Orillia/ and
have requested billets. I am sure "Colbor-
nites" will help the committee by volunteer-
ing their help. Phone Shirley Hazlett'

There has been a brisk demand for Jolly
Miller theatre tickets. -It would be advisable
to purchase them early. Limited seating is
available in the school auditorium and there
are only two performances.
People`have been phoning the Book Com-
mittee wondering about' their pictures.
Shirley Hazlett wishes to reassure people
that their property is being well looked
after. They do not wish to return pictures
until the book has gone to print. Sometimes
picture sizes need to be changed and the
original picture is needed for this. it is im-
portant to keep the filing system uniform
and the committee prefers to return all the
