water treatment plant dies
VICTOR DAVID POWELL
Victor David Powell of Goderich died at
Alexandra Marine and General Hospital on
Saturday, May 3, 1986, at the age of 68. A
sergeant in the Armed Forces for 29 years,
he was employed as a maintenance operator
at the Goderich water treatment plant,
following his retirement frons the forces.
He was a member of St. George's
Anglican Church, Goderich and the Royale
Canadian Legion, Branch.109.
Born in Stratford on July 14, 1917, he was a
son of the late George Powell and Pearl
Leitch. •
He is survived by his wife, the former Ed-
na Derbyshire, five daughters, Eleanor and
Paul Shannon of Havana, Cuba; Diane Ber-
dan of Toronto; Valerie and Paul Despres of
Greenwood, Nova Scotia, Sue and Ian
MacAdam and Vicki and Eric Skirten of
Goderich and one son, David also of
Goderich.
A brother, Albert Powell of Goderich,
eight grandchildren and one great grandson
also survive. .

Rheta Edith ( Lee) Scott, formerly of
Goderich, died at Chelsey Park in London on
May 2, 1986 in her 91st year.
Beloved wife of Andrew R. Scott, dear
mother of Lee of Meaford and Donald of
est Bloomfield, Michigan and Joan, Mrs.
Alex Clark, ' of London, she is lovingly
remembered by 12 grandchildren and thir-
teen great grandchildren.
The family received friends at the McIn-
tosh - Anderson Funeral Home in Oshawa on
Sunday, May 4, 1986 where the funeral ser-
vice was held Monday, May 5 at 10:30 a.m.

Frederick A. Bridle of Meneset Park, R.
5, Goderich died at Alexandra Marine and
General Hospital in Goderich on Friday,
May 2,1986 at the age of 75.
An employee with the Goderich PUC for
21 years, he transferred to Strathroy PUC
and then to Dresden PUC where he was
manager until his retirement in 1977.
A member of the United Church of
Canada, he served in the RCAF during
World War II.
