Police Chief Pat King was among the local celebrities who served
up Big Macs at McDonald's on McHappy Day, April 2 when $1 from
every Big Mac goes to local children's charities. Jason Geldhof,
right, and Jeremy Penn who accompanied his father, John Penn,
executive director of Family and Children's Services enjoyed Big
Macs, french fries and shakes. Approximately. $1,700 was raised
with 10 per cent going to support Ronald MaeDonntd Houses and
the remaining to be split between the four registered 'children's
charities in Goderich, Survival Through Friendship House,
-Goderich and District Association for the Mentally Retarded, Big

Lakeside property owners can apply
Property owners . along' Lake • Huron
whose property is damaged by flooding or
erosion can apply for financial help
through the Great Lakes Shoreline
Assistance Program until Mar. 31, 1987.
The program, which provides loans at
eight per cent and repayable over 10 years
through property taxes, was recently ex -
tended by the Ministry of Municipal Af-
fairs. Amendments to legislation will also
soon provide loans for raising or relocating
buildings where `the threat of flooding or
damage exists.
