'the Suncoast Mall Merchants Association presented its annual Spring Fashion last Wednes-
day evening at the Suncoast Mall. A feature of this,year's.show, entitled Spring into Sum-
mer, was the presentation of formal wedding attire. including a host of traditional styled
wedding and bridesmaids dresses, by Collins Formal Rentals of 1 nmdon. Accessories or the
formal wedding attire were provided by mall stores. Swartmen's Menti Shop of the mall
displayed its line of formal tuxedos for prospective grooms and attendants while children's
and ladies' fashions were presented by The ,Mei. Em{lluyees of the' participating stores

Lochalsh people return from Portugal
Visiting with Rhetta MacLennan on the
weekend were her daughter, Florence
MacLennan and her friend Shirley of Kit-
chener. On Monday Rhetta had her son
Jack MacLennan of Stratford.
Sympathy is extended to the family of
the late Murdock -MacDonald who passed
away in the Kincardine Hospital in his
92nd year after a lengthy illness.
The Bible Study class of the Ashfield
Presbyterian Church met Wednesday
morning at the home of Mrs. June Wylds.
Cecil .Webster of Waterloo and his
mother Kae Webster visited on Saturday
with Norma Young of Goderich„
Jim Webster of Kitchener, son of Well-
ington and Kae Webster, has finally
returned to work at Acorn Kitchens in Kit-
chener after being off work for 51/2 months
due to sickness.

Civil servant dies. at 67
BRUCE MacARTHUR BLOOMFIELD
Bruce MacArthur Bloomfield of Goderich
died at Alexandra Marine and General
Hospital on Tuesday, March 18, 1986 in his
68th year.
A labourer with the civil service, he was a
Member of the Royal Canadian Legion.,
Branch 109.
He was born in Goderich on December 23,
1918, a son of the late William Bloomfield
and Harriett MacArthur. He married Isobel
Cooper who predeceased him.
He is survived by five sisters, Viola, Mrs.
Earl Sheardown of Goderich; Mabel, Mrs. .
Glenn Pr-iee of R. 2, Clinton; Louvaine, Mrs.
William Swan of Goderich; 'June, Mrs.
Ellwood Clarke of London and Gloria, Mrs.
William Bedour of Zurichland five brothers,,
Russell of Ottawa; Harry of Goderich;
Alfred of Barrie; Morley of Lambeth and
Leonard of Seaforth. He is also survived by
a number of nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by two sisters, Jean
Bloomfield and Irene, Mrs. Benson Kerr
and one brother, Carl.
The funeral and conimittal services were
conducted by Rev. John D.M.' Wood of Vic-
toria Street .United Church, Goderich 011

OBITUARIES
SIDNEY PALMER
Sidney Palmer of Maitland Manor Nurs-
ing Home in Goderich died Saturday, March
22, 1986 in his 86th year.
He was . born on January 15, 1901. ini
Devizes, Wiltshire, England, a son of the
late Mary Garlic and Daniel Palmer. He
came to Canada in 1909 with the Barnardo
Home. He lived and worked with Mr. and
Mrs. George. Stewart as a florist in Goderich
from 1922 -1935.
He was a treasurer of the Menesetung
Canoe Club and a member of the Maitland
Lodge 33, A.F. & A.M. and a Scottish Rite
32nd mason. He enjoyed playing the har-
monica, cymbals, saxaphone and clarinet.
One band in which he played won first at a
CNE competition ,and he also played in a
dance orchestra.
He is survived by several nieces acid
nephews in Canada and England.
He is predeceased by four brothers,
George, Will and Fred of England acid
Leonard of Shedden, Ontario.
The funeral and committal services were
held at the McCallum Funeral Home on
Monday, March 24, 1986 at 2, p.m. conducted
by Rev. Robert J. Crocker of St. George's
Anglican Church.
Burial in Shedden Cemetery.

DAN MERO
I)an Merd of Nile died at Alexandra
Marine and General Hospital in Goderich on
Saturday, March 22, 1986 at the age of 57.
An attendant on the psychiatric ward of
the hospital, he was born in Sandwich,
Essex,England on December 21, 1928. He
was a son of Donald Mero land the former
Victoria DeGuire of Windsor.
He is survived by his parents, his wife, the
former Dorothy Curran, three daughters,
Linda ,Running of Kitchener, Debra Eg-
gleton of Tilbury and Judy Couture of
Chatham and, two sons, Derek at home and
Dennis of Chatham, a step -son Kevin Willis
of Goderich and three grandchildren, Jen-
nifer, Gary and Tommy.
Two brothers, Armand of Windsor and
John of Kingsville and a sister, Noella, Mrs.
Ed Miller of Goderich and his mother-in-
law, Eileen Curran also survive.
He was predeceased by a sister, Therese
Mero and his father-in-law, John Curran.
The funeral and committal services were
held at the McCallam Funeral Horne on
Tuesday, March 25, 1986 at 2 p.m. conducted
' by' Rev. John D.M. Wood of Victoria Street
United Church, Goderich.
Burial in Colborne Cernetery.
ELMER CHARLES ANSTAY
Elmer Charles Anstay of Goderich died at
Alexandra Marine and General Hospital on
Thprsday, March 20, 1986 at the age of 66.
A plumber employed by Worsell Bros. of
Goderich, he was a member of Knox
•Presbyterian Church.
Born on June 15, 1919, he was a son of the
late William Anstay and Elizabeth Doak. He
marriedEva Madge Eagles who predeceas-
ed him.
He is survived by a daughter, Sharon
Elizabeth of Kingston and nieces and
nephews in Goderich, Toronto and New
Minas, N.S.
He is also survived by a cousin, Charles
Anstay and a sister-in-law, Hilda Anstay,
both of Gederich.
I He was predeceased by his wife, his
- parents and a brother, James.
Clark have returned home after a two
week holiday in Portugal.
Bob and Dennis Courtney called in at
Wellington and Kae Webster's the other
day for a visit.
On Thursday Dennis Courtney pulled
down the barn that was at one time on the
Webster property.

ESTHER ELIZABETH (FISHER) HORN
.Esther Elizabeth. (Fisher) Horn of
Owosso, Michigan died at Owosso Memorial
Hospital on Sundays, March 16, 1986 in her
85th year.
Born in Colborne Township, on July 3,
1901, she was a daughter of the, late Wesley
Fisher and Minnie White. She married
Russell Horn who predeceased her.
She is survived by nieces and nephews,
Linda and Don Machan of Wyoming; Sharon
Sokolovic of Kitchener.; Esther Fisher of
Goderich; Barb and Jim Hawkins of B. 6,
Goderich; Bob and Carol Ann Fisher of i on -
don and Roy and Allen Fisher of Godericl i.
She is also survived by a brother; Thomas
Fisher of Goderich and a sister- in-law,
Dorothy, Mrs. Milton Fisher of Goderich.
She waspredeceased by six brothers. Clif-
ford, .James, Joseph, John, Milton and
Allan.
Funeral and cot tunittal services were con-
ducted from the McCallum Funeral Hoinc
at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 19, 1986 by
Rev. G. L. Royal of Knox Presbyterian
Church, Goderich.
Burial in Colborne Cemetery.
The .funeral service was held at the Mc-
Callum Funeral Home in Goderich on Satur-
day, March 22,1986 at 2 p.m., conducted by Wilfred (Alva) Biggin, Mrs. Cecil ( Neil
Rev. G.I. Royal of Knox Presbyterian Chur- Cooper and Mrs. Tom (Edna) Churchill.

FERN FINLAY -
Fern Finlay, formerly of Goderich and
Goderich Township, died in iuronview on
March 22. She was 91 -years -old.
Mrs. Finlay was born in Clinton on August
21, 1894 to Christopher and Margaret t Mali-
ning I Beacome. She was the wife of Wilbert.
D. Finlay.
Mrs. Finlay is survived by her daughter,
Mrs. William ( Molly I Cox of RR24ioderich,
three grandchildren and five great grand-
children.
Also surviving is one brother, • Bert
Beacome of Clinton and a special aunt, Bea
Johnston of Georgetown.
Mrs. Finlay tvas predeceased • by one
brother, William and four sisters: 'Mrs.
Wellington (Myrtle) Holtzhauer, Mrs.
