on Easter Seal telethon
The telethon for Easter Seals to assist
crippled children was held on CKNX TV for
10 hours on Sunday if
was nice to be able to see one of our former
residents perform. Graham and Eleanor
Townsend were guests on the Tommy
Hunter segment of the telethon. Eleanor, as
everyone knows, was the former Eleanor
Reed and spent her early years in Dungan-
non as did her brother, Jim and her sister,
Jewel.
Company with Ray and Gwen Copeland on
Sunday were Gwen's parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Leonard Klages of Hanover.
Helen Coe,. daughter, Colleen and son,
George of Angus visited on the weekend
with Donald and Lynda Curran and family.
Ross MacDonald and wife, Bessie of Ot-
tawa visited for a few days with his mother,
Lil.. They left for home on Sunday. While
there, they drove Lil to visit with Beth Mc-
Connell at Farrish's Rest Home and• visited
for a short time with Margaret Mole on
Sunday. •

March 17.

showed a video on insulin and spoke on in-
sulin available for the diabetic.

Celebrates birthday
An afternoon tea For fainly and friends
was held at Maitland Manor on Saturday,
March 22 in honour of Hattie Arman who
will celebrate her 98th birthday on April
26.
Born in Dungannon, the former Hattie
.Ryan, she married Burt Roach and they
resided in I,ucknow where her husband •
was employed with Silverwoods. Follow-
ing his death in 1958, she moved 0
Goderich where she has resided since 1960.
In 1966,• she married Harrison Van Ar-
man of Goderich whom she met through a
senior citizens organization. He
predeceased her in 1976.
Her family includes a daughter, Erma
Brewer of Kitchener and a grandson, Jim
Brewer.
Auxiliary enters
garage sale
Hospital auxiliary will participate in com-
munity garage sale on May 3.
The Alexandra Marine and General
Hospital Auxiliary met for its regular
meeting on Monday, March 17.
Encouraging reports were received from
the treasurer and the various convenors.
It was decided that the Auxiliary would
participate in the Giant Community Garage
Sale on May 3.
