Sports N::H s an ► old rs tom • et Intermediates challenge ra There have beeri many good Sailor teams over the years and perhpas one of the best was the 1978-79 Intermediate C Sailors. The team did well in playoffs that year and came up a win or two short of advanc- ing to the provincial championship, losing to Wheatley in the semi-final series. Well much of that team has been reunited for a weekend exhibition game with the newest rendition of the Sailors, the Junior C Sailors, which competed in the Central League this year. Team coaches Dan Duncan and Ron Sowerby played with the intermediate team and no doubt were instrumental in organizing the game with their younger namesakes. The two teams will take to the ice this Sunday at 2.30 p.rn. for an exhibition game. The Jr. C Sailors have distributed vouchers to schoolchildren which are good for admission to the game and a canteen treat if the bearer is accompanied by an adult. These days you don't often get much entertainment for a dollar, but this Sunday at 2:30 p.m. the1' 77-80 Goderich In- termediate Saito' e'11 play the new GODERICH . The game is being held to help raise funds for the Junior hockey team which will enter its second season of operation in the OHA Central Junior 'C' league this fall, but the main purpose is to provide some fun for both the participants and the fans. '1'he 1977-80 intermediate teams were strong competitors in the OHA In- termediate 'C' division and the 1979 team reached the OHA finals. Many. of the players are still active in rec. league play and will be able to -give the young Sailors all they can handle. The game will be played with no body contact so it should provide plenty of wide-open action. The game will mark the last hockey match of the season at the Goderich Arena and the ice will taken out during the next week. Roller skating will begin in April. The team lineups are listed below for your convenience. It promises to be an entertaining game to wrap up the hockey season in Goderich.
