Petrolia Bs 3-2 in
C ivison Saturday

Forest earned the right to play
in the C division consolation
championships, Saturday morn-
ing after defeating Petrolia by 3-2
in the semi-finals, with all three
of their goals going to Brian
Bernardo.
Petrolia got and early lead in
the first period, scoring at 4:00
with "'a goal from Darron
McKinley on an assist from Bill
White -and -Chad Turnbull---_ _.-----
Play was uneventful until 4:52
when Bernardo put in the first of
a natural hat trick assisted by
Jeff Bramham and Kirby McAr-
dle: He did it again less than a
minute later on a: pass from Mar-
tin Erwin and Dane Richardson.
Bernardo waited until 2:49 of
the third period to complete his
run, and put one in on an, assist
from McArdle to bring the score
to 3-1.
Petrolia came within one of
Forest at 8:25 with an unassisted
goal from Mike Harlos, but
couldn't do enough to tie the score
and send the game into overtime.

Mount Forest wins
13.Consblation with
5-3 win over Listowel

Listowel gave up a 2-1 lead to
Mount Forest in the second
period, to go down defeated 5-3 in
the consolation championship B
division on Saturday afternoon.
Mount Forest initiated scoring
early in the first period at 0:10
with a goal from Dennis Black on
an assist from Ken Iles. But
Listowel had it all tied up less
than half a minute later when
Greg Wretham put one in on a
pass from Aaron Pilon and Geoff
Carnegie.
1?ilon bumped Listowel into the
lead at 4:20 with an unassisted
goal to end scoring action in the
first period. Listowel's early suc-
cess can be partially attributed to
Gary Smith who was instrumen-
tal in bringing the puck down the
ice and displayed sharp puck
handling skills.
Mount Forest dominated the
second period, putting two more'
up on the board. Shane Cooper
scored at 2:02 on an assist from
Jason Oakes, and Iles followed it
up with another on a pass from
Paul Cameron.
Mount Forest opened the third
period as well, on a unassisted
goal from Oakes to bring the
score to 4-2.
Listowel put their passing
game together and executed
some good offensive plays, but
they were for the most part
thwarted by the solid goaltending
efforts of Bart Penuarden.
Penuarden let only one by in
the third. A shot from Geoff
Carnegie got in around him at
4:01 to bring Listowel to within
one of tying the score.
They couldn't pull it off though,
and Black of Mount Forest wrap-
ped up the game with an
unassisted goal at 12:44.
