Durham edged Mitchell in a 6-5
victory to. advance to the C divi-
sion consdlation championship
game on Friday morning.
Mitchell matched Durham goal
for goal for the first two periods,
but two consecutive' goals in the
third gave them the advantage
theyneeded to win the game.
Durham opened scoring action
at'1:05 in the first period with a
goal from Brian Eccles assisted
by Stacey Becker: Mitchell didn't
respond until the secondperiod,
and then it was Kory .Dietz, who
put one in at :32 on an assist from
Rob Jarmuth and Darryl Eidt.
• Durham took the lead again at
1:37 thanks to ,a: goal from John
Bacon on an assist from Becker.
Kut the see -saw action continued
with Mark Ulch putting one in for
Mitchell to tie it up again 2-2 at
' 4:57.
Durham got the upper hand
once more with Keith MacMillan
scoring on a pass from Brian Ec-
cles and Todd Wright at 6:58, and
once more Mitchell evened it out
when Dietz put one in at 9:24
Durham scored again with
Brian Eccles at 4:03 in the third
period, but this time kept the of-
fensive momentum making it two
in h row with another at 5:11 this
time from Becker.
Mitchell rallied again to come
within one of Durham when Kory
Dietz scored at 5:20 to make it a
5-4 game. But Durham pulled
away again with Becker putting
on an assist from . Keith Mac-
Millan at 6:37.
Mitchell had the last word at
14:18 when Rob Jarmuth scored
an unassisted goal.

It took Forest only one period to
assume control of their C consola-
tion final against Durham in the
second last game of the YCW
tournament on Saturday. The.7-1
score was a good indication of
how the winners had Durham on
the ropes. Kirby McArdle helped
out on the win with a hat trick.
It didn't take long for Forest to
get on the scoreboard, their first
goal coming from Dale Scott on
an unassisted effort.
Five minutes later Forest
scored another goal, Shawn
Sparling completing a passing
play from Mike McKellar. It was
the first two for defensrman
Sparling.
For his secondgoal at 2:24.
Sparling went into the Durham
zone and did the job himself,
scoring his 'second goal
unassisted and second of three
points on the afternoon.
Durham. still had a chance
after the second period closed out
with.the score in favour of Forest
3-0. The third period killed any
chances they had though; with
five of the game goals scored.
At 0:31 McArdle got his first of
three, assisted by Jeff Bramham
and Brian Bernardo. The next
was Mc'Ardle's as well, after five
minutes of scoreless action and
was assisted by Chris McLean.
Martin Erwin also potted a goal
at 9:21 splitting up McArdle's
chance of scoring three in a row.
The Erwin goal was assisted by
McLean and Mike McKellar. It
was the sixth Forest goal.
McArdle scored his last of
three with an assist from Sparl-
ing at 10:13.
Durham managed to score its
only, goal on an individual effort
by Keith MacMillan ruining
Charles Thuss' chance of a
shutout,
