Race for first place tightens
Troubles Back had no trouble at all tak-
ing five points from SHirl's Girls, who are
the league leaders. It was a team effort
with good games by Verna Jackson 135,
156, Deb Stright 165, Mary Chambers 179,
Liz Kruspe 226, Jennifer Kruspe 193, 286,
641, triple which was 158 pins over her
average triple. Audrey Brindley is back to
her old form rolling 248, 254, 654 triple.
Shirt's Girls managed to take two points,
led by Mary Lynne Telford 184, Barb
Almasi 231, 625 triple, Dorothy Bourdeau
286, 657 triple.
The Oldtimers split the points with the
Blazers and came away with four points.
Good games rolled by Kris Miller 206,
Melba Mailiet230, Nancy White was back
on track rolling 228, 235, 275, 738 triple,
which was 153 pins over her average triple.
The Blazers took three points led by Joyce
Hamilton 218, 245, 622 triple, NancyBrooks
made her presence known with 171, 204,

Auleen's Angels are still making a run
for first place as they look five points from
the No Names. Good games rolled by
Grace Mugford 197, Carolyn Carter 238,
Joan Burleigh 257, 628 triple. The No
Names came away with two points, led by
Anne McCartney 200, Jean Mundle 204, Del
Geddes 282, 640' triple.
The Marionettes bowled against 100' per-
cent€(of their average and took five points.
First place in the league has become a
very close race with the Marionettes being
two points behind the leaders. Good games
rolled by Alice Mero 147,. Joan Crawford
191, Marilyn Bannister 223, 579 triple.
These ladies have bowled on the same
team, in the same league, for the past
seventeen years.
Wednesday afternoon
Fire Birds took seven points from the
Mustangs as Wanda MacDonald bowled a
594 followed by Susan Huisser's 579 and
Janet Daer bowled a 511 followed by Daisy
Scott's 502. The ponies took seven points
from the Porsches. Marion Miller bowled a
548 followed by Marg Miller with a 464.
Audrey Brindley bowled a 557 and Pauline
Knight 409. The Edsels took one game with
Sharon Sanders 513 followed by Olive
Gilbert's 454. Thunder Birds took two
games and High bowler was Joanne
Ducharme with a 646, followed by Kay
Glen's 426. The Hot Rods took seven points

a 575 followed by Yvonne Dougherty's 522.
For the Ramblers it was Joyce Hamilton,
526 followed by Phyllis Boak 428. The Hon-
das took seven points from the Rolls
Royce. Dianne Leddy had 641 and Mary
Lou Melick 525.
The Love Bugs took five points from the
Caddies. For the Love Bugs it was Irene
Sparks 529 followed by Penny Breen 482.
For the Caddies it was Ilene Sillib 480 and
Esther Murphy 435.

I is time to dig out the ball glove
Yes sports fans, it's that time of year
again. It's time to dig out the baseball
gloves, dust off the bats and don the tradi-
tional caps:
T -ball, which is under the jurisdiction of
the Ontario Baseball Association through
the Western Ontario Athletic Association
(WOAA), is now being organized throughout
the province. This year, championship tour-
naments will be held in six regions.
There are a total of four classifications
with towns
under the population of
8,000 fall-
ing
into the "D" division. The age limit for
T -ball p1ayers is nine -years -old or younger
as of August 1.
A T -ball game runs five innings in length.

with 4-1 loss
On Saturday, the Pee Wee B's played in
Exeter, losing their last season game 4-1.
Steve Atchison came up with the goal for
Goderich,'with Jerry Hartin assisting.
The Goderich team ended I their season
with eight wins, losses and four ties.
The Pee Wee B's
s will begin their playoffs
in Hensel on March 22 at 8 p.m.
Hustlers win
prize money
The Huronia Hustlers, the league's last
place team, took first place in a weekend
tournament and won $50. Ron Durnin was
the high bowler with a 780 triple.
Grub's Group finished second with the
help of Tins Gerrit'§ 680. The Casuals from
Lucknow were third with a total pinfall of
4384 and Luckywood Lanes from Ltrcknow
was fourth with a pinfall of 4333.
