Fairy Tale Week, these students dressed up
as their favorite fairy tale character and the
teachers dressed up,as the Seven Dwarfs.
. Miss Rankin's Grade 3 is studying
pioneers from the area. They are very in-
terested in this topic and are finding lots of
interesting information. If you lived in the
earlier days of this century and would like to
come and talk to the children; we would be
very pleased to hear from you, (524!8972).
Coming Events
Grade 7 and 8 Science projects are due
April 1. This will be for a major portion of
the third term mark. Report cards come
out March 3.

For the past week, Kindergarten to Grade
3 classes have bad Fairy Tale Week, During
this ;' ch, Mrr. xtrcwn has Ysked triviP
questions during the announcements. Also,
each of these classes went to Mrs. Scratch's
room for drama, Mrs. Freeman's room for
music and movement, Mrs. Brown's room
for puppets, Miss Rankin's room for cooking
apples (this represented the poisoned apple
from Snow White), Mr. Bond's room for out-
side games, Mrs. Wilson's room for math
and listening games, and to Miss
Broadwell'.> room for language. To end
Libraries
funded
for French
A program designed to expand the
availability of French -language material in
Ontario libraries will receive up to $416,000
in funding —an increase of 11.5 percent over
last year, Citizenship and Culture Minister
Dr. Lily Munro announced recently.
The Bruce County Library, which serve a
population of •844 francliphotres, will receive
a grant of $855. '
The Ministry funds the program through
-public -library ...boards_ Using....tlze_1981Cen-
sus, it grants one dollar per francophone
citizen. For example, if a francophone com-
munity has a population of 24,000, it is eligi-
ble to receive $24,000. Minimum funding to
an eligible library board is $500.
The French Language Library Collection
Development Program is one of several pro-
vincial initiatives which has contributed to
the growth of French language library ser-
vices. These include the hiring of a provin-
cial co-ordinator of French Language
Library Services.
