Bogie rink wins with list rock to
remain undEf ated in league lay
It was close, but the Legion team just
couldn't prevent Cam Bogie and his
Forester team from scoring in the final end,
and remain undefeated after eleven rounds
in the Industrial Curling League.
The game was nip and tuck throughout,
with three blank ends,. and tied coming
home, but Cam had last rock and played a
tap -back on Jim Bell's rock in the four -foot
to take one and win by a 3-2 score. Nice try,
Jim!
In the other 7 p.m. games, Floyd Herman
and his Elementary Teacher team took on
the strong Health Unit squad and defeated
them 7-4, while Bernice Moore and the Lady
Foresters whipped V & G 7-2. Ken Englestad
took his Hospital team off onra scoring spree
to defeat the Junior Vikings 9-4.
At 9 p.m. Glenn Falkiner and his Union
1663 team fell behind to Faye Ribey and her

Maitland Golfers, butfought back to score
four in the sixth and win the game 10-6. Dan
Durst and his Viking Vets scored early and
built up an insurmountable lead over Mark
Fischer and his Sifto Salt Squad, defeating
them 9-2.
Doug Bundy and his GDCI Teacher team
are planning to launch an official protest, as
the Super Shell team were playing with
more than four players. Jodi Harrison was
obviously carrying some hidden talent and
a
we were wondering if this was part of the
prenatal exercise class!
It certainly didn't bother her, though, as
she curled as well as her dad and the rest -of
the Shell team to defeat the GDCI Teachers
5-4.
The extra -end ga>ahe of the night went to
Charlie Crawford and his Port Albert Ice
Cubes, who took a close 6-4 encounter away
from the other GDCI Teacher squad, skip-
ped by Chris Conner.
Only four more weeks remain in the
regular season for his league, then play will
start in the round -up bonspiel that finishes
up on Saturday, March 29. If past ex-
periences are an indicator, this league will
again have the most enjoyable wind-up
bonspiel going, thanks to George and his
organization!
