Green Machine pelts Porkers 5-3 to win
Only one quarter -final series remains
alive as three teams have already advanc-
ed to the semi-finals of the Goderich
Recreation Hockey League playoffs.
This week, Ernie's Raiders upset Sunset
6-4 to tie that best -of -three series at one
game apiece. Bedford wrapped up its
series with Clere-Vu in two straight games
and Hodges advanced defeated the Jets 8-3
to win that series in two straight games...
In the final series, Murhpy's Green
Machine prevailed over O'Brien's Porker

just about everything. O'Briens tied the
series with a 7-3 win Wednesday but
Murhpy's won the deciding game 5-3 Sun-
day.
In the second game, O'Briens and Green
Machine were tied 1-1 after one period, but

their effort and suffered a heartbreaking 8-

emerged with only a tie as the offense had
trouble solving the Port Stanley
goaltender. Darrell Durnin netted the first
goal for Goderich half -way through the
period. He was assisted by Brian
Chambers. Port Stanley later tied it up on
the power play, the first of five power play
