Grace was said by Gary Shuttleworth and a pot luck dinner was enjoyed. The Junior Choir opened the program with two songs, 'I Love Jesus" and "I want to pass it on". A recitation by Tammy Mid- dlekamp followed, and then little brother Josh echoed it. Bernice Gross and Margo Middlekamp conducted a number of games and winners were Ruud Koonmans. Val McPhee. Nicole Middlekamp, Barry Millian, Leanne Vin- cent, Mrs. Dalton, Ernie Durnin, Sherry Kryzanowski, Roger Cunningham, Susan Dobie, Yanhy Koopman and,Melissa Hanna. Tammy Shuttleworth gave a speech on "Drinking and Driving." Shelley Dobie favoured with a piano solo and Sherry Kryzanowski treated us to a piano accordion number. Nicole Middlekamp played a "Sonata" on the piano for our enjoyment. Nancy Park with assistance from the "Hap- py Gang" led a sing -song. The Farmers Woe by Anita Gross was a thought provoking speech. The Highland Lilt was danced by Susan Dobie.' Ernie Dur- nin with his harmonica and Marjorie McDougall at the piano favoured with several numbers. \ • Karen Webster introduced Maria Dalton of Kingsbridge who told us about her,trip to Haiti and showed pictures. She had been to a Mother Teresa orphanage where there was one doctor for 50 babies. She was also at "The Home for the Dying". She told us about a Canadian Missionary with a home for 100 boys from eight to 25 years and show- ed pictures of the work accomplished there. She made us realize the poverty that there is in Haiti and is planning on a trip back to Haiti in July. Robert Slater has taken over the duties of the Caretaker of Auburn. Community Hall. THE SILVER TOP DINNER The Silver Top Dinner was held on Wednesday, Feb. 19 at the Community Hall at noon. There were 24 present and they sent out four dinners. The afternoon was spent playing euchre AUBURN Mildred Lawlor and shuffleboard. The next dinner will be Mar. 19. ST. MARK'S ANGLICAN CHURCH On Mar. 2,.Vic Stacc ouse the'lay reader for St. Mark's Anglicsirrehtirch will have the service in Auburn at 8:30 a.m., Blyth Trini- ty, at 9:45 and Brussels at 11:30 a.m. On Mar. 2, the guest minister for Holy Communion will be Rev. Bren De Vries at Blyth Trinity at 9:45 and Brussels Anglican Church, 11:30 a.m. He was a former minister at all three Anglican churches. WOMEN'S INSTITUTE The monthly meeting of the Auburn Women's Institute was held Tuesday, Feb.. 18 at Community Hall.. President Mrs. Len. Archambault with Marjorie McDougall as pianist welcomed everyone and read a poem "One Hour A Day." Mrs. Tom Haggitt .was in charge of the Tweedsmuir History Book. The minutes and financial statement were read by the secretary, Mrs. Robert Peck. Card Report' was given by Lillian Leatherland. The Tweedsmuir History was read by Mrs. Tom Haggitt. Contests were given by Mrs. Oliver Anderson and the winners were Jean Pidetzei d rvlafiali Haggai.. Mrs. Iiaggitt had another contest and the winner was Mrs. Len Archambault. There were two more contests and the winners were Mar- jorie McDougall and Mrs. Jean Plaetzer. There will be a euchre party at Communi- ty Hall on Wednesday, Feb. 26 at 8 p.m. Last week euchre was called off because of the weather. Arthur Circle saves nennies for missions Winnie Walters and heer group opened the meeting of the Arthur Circle Auxiliary with a sing -a -long on Feb. 17. Betty Coulter led the group with several familiar and new tunes for the Valentine meeting. , Chris Hyde read two poems. "The Silver Trees'.' and "Do Not Be Afraid of Life", followed by the offering and reports read by the secretaries. "Saving Pennies" (a new project) are to be brought to the April and October meetings. President Sandi Davidson stated that 41 cents of the dollar goes to World Missions, so all offerings are used wisely. She also sug- gested we grow not only emotionally, but spiritually and collectively. Joyce Garrick, vice president gave a report on the Stratford -Huron Presbyterial Day recently held in Mitchel! - that paid at: tendance is on the increase at W.M.S. gatherings. She urged everyone to attend the annual meeting Mar. 24 to be held at St. Andrews Stratford. Margaret Creamer introduced an ex- change teacher from Australia at Robertson School, who is teaching Grade 3. Jennie Rankin from Perth showed slides of Australia and answered questions about her country. The next meeting will be . Mar. 17 con- ducted by the executive.
