WILLIAM JOHN PETRIE
William John Petrie of Goderich and
formerly of Dungannon died at Alexandra
Marine and General Hospital on Tuesday,
January 21, 1986 in his 86th year.
A retired farmer, he was a member of
North Street United Church, Goderich.
Born in Ashfield Township on March 1.
1900, he was a son of the late John William
Petrie and the former Eliza Kilpatrick. He
was married to the former Elizabeth Black,
who predeceased him.
He is survived by a°son, Allan of Goderich,
a son, Ken and his wife, Marie of Kincardine
and a daughter, Marina and her husband,
John Park of Dungannon. Six grand-
children, one great grandson, two sisters,
Mary, Mrs. Case Black of Kitchener and
Elsie, Mrs. Richard McIntyre of .,Goderich
and one brother, Joe of Tillsonburg also sur-
vive.
Besides his wife, he was predeceased by a
son in infancy, a granddaughter, a sister,
Bertha, Mrs. Jim McMillan and two
brothers, Roy and Charles.
. The funeral was held from the McCallum
Funeral Home in Goderich on Thursday,
January 230 1986 at 2 p.m., conducted by
Rev. Robert 0. Ball of North Street United
Church, Goderich.
Flowerbearers were Wayne Park, Glenda
Park, Virginia Petrie and Fay Petrie.
Pallbearers were Murray Johnston,
Wilfred Glen, John Black, Bill Black, Frank
Pentland and Bill Caesar.
Burial in Dungannon Cemetery.

bake sale
The regular meeting of the Alexandra.
Marine and General Hospital Auxiliary was
held Monday, January 20, and it was decid-
ed that a bake 'sale be held March 21, and a
Tag Day May 30.
Letters of thanks were received from the
Board of Governors for medical equipment

ELSIE EUGENIE EUSTACE
Elsie Eugenie Eustace, 93, died at the Ex-
tendicare Nursing Home, London, on Satur-
day, Jan. 18, 1986.
Daughter of the late William and Martha
Johnson, of England, she was born Apr. 19,
1892 in Cole e, Willeshire County, England.
She was a umber of the Anglican Church.
She was predeceased by her husband
William Eustace whom she married Oct. 25,
1918 in Penzance, Cornwall, England. She
• was also predeceased by one son Stuart and
one brother Albert, of Ottawa.
Surviving are one daughter Vera, Mrs.
J.R. Weir, of London, two grandchildren,
Robert Weir, of London and Joan, Mrs. Wm.
Stiles, of London and great grandchildren
Lisa and Kurtis Weir and Michael, Kim,
Brett and Heather Stiles.
After visitation at Stiles Funeral Home,
Goderich on Jan. 20, the funeral service was
held Thursday, Jan. 23 at Hulse and
Playfair Ltd., McLeod St., Ottawa. Inter-
ment Beechwood Cemetery, Ottawa
CHARLES A. KILGALLEN
Charles A. Kilgallen, 86, of Grimsby,
formerly of Goderich and Wallaceburg, died
Wednesday, Jan. 8, 1986 in West Lincolm
Memorial Hospital, Grimsby.
Son of the late James Kilgallen, of Ireland
and the former Amanda Ward, of the British
West Indies, Barbadoes, he was born Oct.
20, 1899 m Montreal.
He was a police officer in Montreal, a
police chief in Palmerston, Ont., an assis-
tant police chief in Harriston and a printer
in Wallaceburg before retiring in Goderich.
He was a Mason for 60 years.
He was predeceased by his wife, the
former Rosanna James.
Surviving are one son Lewis, of Grimsby,
two daughters Thelma Larlee, of -Paris and
Shirley Smith, of Goderich, nine grand-
children and 11 great grandchildren,
Funeral services were held Friday, Jan.

It was announced that Bursaries had been
awarded by the auxiliary to Vicki Bottcher
and Mary Margaret Fuller who,, have
entered nursing or related professions.
A very successful crafts and bake. sale
„ was held in November, with a net profit of
over $1,000. The draw for the clown mobile
was made December 24 and the winner was
Kate McIver of Oakville.

ELIZABETH `PAT' (WALSH) HOWARD
Elizabeth `Pat' (Walsh) Howard, 68, of
Ashfield Township, died Saturday, Jan. 11,
1986 at the Alexandra Marine and General
Hospital.
She was born June 23, 1917 in Bellaghy,
Northern Ireland and worked as a
registered nurse at the Alexandra Marine
and General Hospital until 1982 when she
retired. She was a member of the St.
Joseph's Roman Catholic Church,
Kingsbridge and the CWLJof the same chur-
ch.
She was predeceased by her husband
Robert Anthony Howard on June 15, 1985.
Surviving are one daughter Anne Marie
and her husband Michael Leitch, of Oshawa,
one son Gerard, of ,Ashfield Township and
brothers and sisters Bridget Loughran,
Mary McNally, Jim and Frank Walsh, all in
Ireland.
Funeral Mass was. celebrated by Rev.
Frank Dentinger in St. Joseph's Roman
Catholic Church on Monday, Jan. 13. Inter-
ment St.Joeph's Cemetery. Prayers were
said at th cCallum Funeral Home Sunday
evening:

GLADYS JEFFERSON
Gladys Jefferson, 93,died at the People's
Care Centre, Stratford, on Tuesday, Jan. 21,
1986.
Daughter of the late William John Jeffer-
son and the former Christena Cameron, of
West Wawanosh Township, she was born
Aug. 18, 1892 in East Wawanosh Township.
She was a registered nurse in Goderich,
Woodstock and Clinton and a member of the
United Church of. Canada and the Bluewater
Chapter O.E.S. 284, Goderich:
Surviving are one sister Margaret Leddy,
of Clinton and two brothers Sam, of
Goderich and Hilliard (Pete), of Auburn.
She • was predeceased by brothers and
sisters, George, Cameron, Gordon, John,
Charlie, Irene, Joe and Olive.
