Ken and Pam Dale's marriage joins
Goderich with its sister, Bay City

Two years ago during the Canada Day
Weekend, Ken Dale, of Goderich ran into
Pamela Doan, of Bay -City; Michigan while
crossing Kingston Street to the Burger
Bar.
Though they'd met three years before at
the same celebration, something special
happened this time and they began a long
distance romance which resulted in the
first marriage between the sister cities of
Goderich and Bay City.
Married Oct. 19, 1985, the newlyweds
were recently presented with a plaque
from Goderich Mayor Eileen Palmer to'
commemorate the first Marriage between
the sister cities.
"We're really happy about this union in
Goderich. But, the first one is the only one'
we'll recognize or the situation could get
•t;'16 out of hand," she joked as she presented.

lided with a northbound car driven by
Karen Wannanmaker, 28, of Ripley at the
Sheppardton curves..
A car following the Wannamaker vehi-
cle, driven by Diane Siemon. 26. of 106
West St., Goderich, then slid into the two
cars. Siemon was not injured.
Knoop was treated and released follow-
ing the accident while Wannamaker's two-
children, Sara, 4 and Heather, 3, who were
passengers in their mother's car -were
released from hospital Tuesday. Wan-
namaker,who was trapped in her car after
the accident, remains in hospital in good
condition.
