PUBLIC MEETING CONCERNING A PROPOSED
ZONING BY-LAW AMENDMENT
TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Goderich will hold a
public meeting on February 17th. 1986 at 6:45 p.m. at the Town Hall to consider a
proposed zoning by-law amendment under Section 34 of The Planning Act. -r
The proposed zoning by-law amendment would champs the zone category of land as
shown on the attached sketch from "Medium Density Residential R-2'! to "High Density
Residential R3.7" to allow the construction of o 6 unit Apartment building.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION relating to the proposed zoning by-law amendment 1s

Flyers lose two butstill lead
Despite losing a couple games over the
past two weeks, the Bedford Flyers cling
to a one -point lead over Murphy's Green
Machine in Goderich Recreation Hockey
League play.
The Flyers have 25 points in 20acnes on
the strength of 11 wins and three t1es.,Mur-
phys trails py a single point having won 12
games but they have three games in hand
on the Flyers.
Li league action, Bedford defeated
O'Briens but lost to Clore -Vu 6-4 and
Sunset 7-3.
Mark Frayne and Willie Denomruelod
Bedford with two goals apiece til the 6-4
win over O'Briens. Brian Moody and Doug
Smith added singles. Dan Duncan s'cured•a
pairfor O'Briens in the loss.
Qn Dec. 22, Sunset got two -goal perfor-
mances from Kevin Meriam and Jim Far-
rish as Sunset defeated the Flyers handily
7-3. Randy Fowler,• Ken Straughan and
Jeff . Harrison scored one goal each.
Frayne scored two goals for Bedford,
The Flyers' woes continued the next
night as Caere,=>Vu got two -goal ,,perfbr-
mances from Don MacDonald and Brent
Daw in a 6-4 win. Frayne and Jerry Hazen -
dal scored two goals. each for Bedford in
the loss.
Murhpy's capitalized on the Bedford
losses winning both its games over the
holiday. On Dec. 29 Green,. Machine
defeated Hoges 10-8 and the next night they
edged the Rockets 4-2.
John McDonald led the Green Machine
offence with three goals, all of them com-
ing in the third period. He scored thelvinn-
ing and insurance goals. Roger Lewis,
Bruce Shoff and Bill Lewis scored two
goals apiece while Dave Graf scored once
for the winners. Gary Multlow scored three
goals for Hodges in the loss.
The next night Green Machine got late
third period goals from Russ Jessup and
Ted Ingrharn to defeat Clero Vu 4-2.
In. ether league action, the J.N. Jets
dropped a 10-2 decision to O'Briens but re-
bounded with an (-3 win over the Raiders

Scott Macaulay led the Porker offence

On Dec. 23, hen Kolkman scored two
goals early in the third period and assisted
on another as Panics defeated O'Briens 6-

In a game Dec. 29, Warren Watt scored
late in the game to lift Genies into a 6-6 tie
with Sunset. Greg Beaconi led the Raiders
with four goals while Kolkrnan assisted on

EXPLANATORY NOTE .
This Ontario Municipal Board Hearing was scheduled to hear oblections which were
received subsequent to the passing of By-law No. 6 of 1984, for the Township of.
Goderich.
The purpose of this By-law Is to regulate the use of lands and the character, location
and use of buildings and structures and to prohibit certain buildings and structures in
various defined areas of the Township of Goderich. The Zoning By-law Implements the
Township of Gbdorlch Secondary Plan and provides for specific land use re gulations to
ensure that the policies of the Secondary Plan are realized.

The'GDCI senior Vikings boys' 'basket-
ball team did well intwo tournaments over
the Christmas break.
The Vikings won the Huron -Perth Pre-'
Christmas Tournament by defeating Strat-
ford Central on their own floor by seven
points. The Vikings won their first round
game in the tourney over. Listowel and
then . beat . the: -,Stratford Northwestern
Huskies in the semi-final..... •
The Vikings played well against high- '
level .opposition in the University. of
Guelph tournament, before losing the con-
solation final to Kitchener Cameron
Heights, 54 - 45. •
• The Vikings lest their first game in the
tournament to the defending. champions,
Timmins, 61- 45. After a,slow start, which
saw them trail 18 - 2, the Vikings came
back to make a game of it, pulling within
five pointsof the Timmins team in the se-
cond•half.
Bob Barwick led the Vikings with 14
points. Todd Graham and Dave Almasi
had 10 apiece and Darryl Blackhad five
points.
In their second game, the Vikings had

The.G.D.C.I. Indoor Track and Field team competed in the all -comers division at the
University of Western Ontario's Western Invitational last Sunday. The meet heldat. Thome-
son Arena matches athletes from the university, club and high school areas against each
other. '
The Viking girls 4 x 201emeter relay team placed third in a time. of 1:55.6. Deb O'Brien,
Krista Collinson, Erin Robinson and Joanne Campbell'were the first high schoel team. •
Joanne Campbell narrowly miesed qualifying for the night final in the 60 m sprint placing
seventh in a time of 8:27 second electric. She had the best hight school'time. Erin Robinson
also ran well placing thirteenth, at 8:57 seconds electric. There were over 50 sixty -meter
competitors. 4'
Ray Bedard won the high school division of shot put throwing' a personal best of 13.90
meters with the 12 pound ball.
Bob Pellow tied for first in the high jump with a leap of 1.6 meters. •
In all, 28 members of the Viking indoor track and field team competed in this opening
meet for the 1986 season.
