Circle elects new officers

The December meeting of the Arthur Cir-
cle was opened by President Lee McCallum
reading from Glad Tidings, The Complete
Story, followed by prayer. Roll call was
taken, and a poem, Now is the Time of
Christmas, was read.
Glenda Salters gave the minutes of the
November meeting.
As this was Lee McCallum's last meeting
as president, she thanked the other ex -

Mr. and Mrs. Dean Marleau
Cheryl Lynn Main and Donald Dean
Marleau were married on October 6 in
North Street United Church, Goderich.
Cheryl is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. P.
Main of Goderich and Dean is the son of
Mrs. Bruce Logan of Guelph and Mr. Don
Marleau of Cambridge. Mr. and Mrs.
Marleau are living in Guelph.

Annual reports by recording secretary,
Glenda Salter; treasurer, Hazel McCreath
gave the financial statement and Joan Per-
rott gave the Glad Tidings report.
A Chinese auction was played twice round
and everyone opened their gifts.
Grace- Cameron read a humorous poem
about `Santa' and the group sang The First
Noel and Silent Night.
A poem was then read by Shirley McCall,
A Candlelight Prayer.
Lee McCallum welcomed Renee
Stalenhoef, guest soloist for the evening, her
husband Walter and Lorne Dotterer.
Renee's first selection was Sweet Little
Jesus, acccompanied by Mr. Dotterer at the
piano.
Sandi Davidson read an extended account
of the trip Mary and Joseph made to
Bethlehem, Day 1 to Day 7.
Renee favoured the group with another
selection, I Wonder As I Wonder.
Joyce Garrick read a poem, Three Weeks
Before Christmas and Sandi continued
reading from Day 8.
Joyce Thorn read the poem .Christmas,
followed by the group singing Oh "Come All
Ye Faithful. Lee McCallum then read A
December Night.
Vi Fuller and Lucille Henderson received
the offering, and Lee McCallum gave the
dedication prayer.
Chris Hyde read a beautiful poem, One
Solitary Life.
Rene Stalenhoef then sang, As I Sat on the
Sunny Bank. Lee thanked Renee and Lorne
for contributing so much to our meeting by
such beautiful music and also thanked Joan
Perrott and her group for providing the lun-
ch.
Rev. Royal gave a challenging message
for the ladies regarding 1985 and the election
of new officers were installed for next year,
followed by the dedication prayer.
