She sat down at the table. "Mom, may I go and see Comet Clause to- day?" she asked "Sure, you, can take the mini craft if you want to, but just make sure you're home by fourteen hundred hours." Sally called up Suzanne, her best friend on her port -a -phone. They decided to meet at the Big C, which was a department store. When they got to the Big C, they decided to have lunch before seeing Comet Clause. In the restaurant they sat down at u''table. They pressed the buttons at the side of the table to show their selection. Within seconds a robot brought the food to their table. After lunch they went to see Comet Clause. They sat on his knee and told him what they wanted for Christmas. Sally wanted books about the olden days when there were no such things as robots and mini -crafts. She also wanted a pet kitten, a music system and a vision box. Suzanne wanted books about the future, a pet mouse, electronic board games, and a watch. On Christmas morning, Sally jumped out of bed, got dressed and went to the elevator. She pressed the button for her parents' roon'i. They were still asleep. She woke them up and they went to the living room. Sally's parents were old fashioned about Christmas. They still decorated a green tree and Sally had to hang up a stocking. Under the tree were millions of presents and in Sally's stocking was a kitten. Comet Claus had really come to her house! by Shannon Daniels Grade 8 Robeson P.S. "Drop it!" What's his name?" "Puddles." I have to suppress a laugh. We begin to search. After a long, hard, thorough look, we find him sleeping with a drunk. I take the kid home, then go home myself. The next day the family invites- me over for Christmas. We even exchange gifts, and become good friends. That is the Christmas spirit. Mike Pitblado Age 13 Robertson P.S. THE STORY OF ELENOR THE ELF Hello! I'm now Santa's mechanic. I used to be just an elf. I want to tell you how I became this. It all started December 23, 2000 and Ernie was Santa's mechanic, but he had a pro- blem. He didn't know how to fix Santa's new "S.S. Rudolf". He didn't want to say this because he was supposed to be the best. It soon became Christmas Eve and Ernie still hadn't fixed it. Santa put up a sign ask- ing someone to try to fix it. My friends told me to try and fix it but I didn't want to be a show off. It was five td midnight so I had to try. I worked on it for two minutes and had it fixed. Santa thanked .me and appointed. me his new mechanic and Santa got all the presents delivered on time. Sandy Chambers Age 13 Robertson P.S. CHRISTMAS IN THE YEAR 2000 Christmas is fun Christmas is great Christmas is not fun When there's no Christmas break! The Board of Education had just passed a law that told the citizens of the small town there would-be no Christmas break. The townspeople were enraged. They began protesting and starting a riot in front of the Board of Education building. They began chanting, "We want Christmas! " "We want Christmas!" "We want Christmas!" A board trustee ran out looking flustered and embarrassed. "Uh, you can have Christmas, there just won't be a holiday. It just isn't a very important ocasion." 'Not important!" cried one person. "It's the biggest event of the year!" MY BEST CHRISTMAS My Best Christmas was in 1982. After we ate I opened my presents. I got a Barbie doll and a doll.
