Edmonton man dies in Goderich at 67
GORDA JAMES WHITE
Gordon James White, 67, of Edmdnton
died Wednesday, December 12 "at his
mother's home in Goderich.
He was born in McKillop Township on
April 29, 1917 to James A." and Laura
(Thamer) White.
The late Mr. White worked as a welder.
He was predeceased by his wife, Helen
Gagne.
He is survivedby his mother,•Laura White
of Goderich; nine children, Gwendolyn and
Christine of London, Carol and Douglas of
Edmonton, Mrs. Murray (Laura) Johnston
and Gordon Jr. of Colborne Township, Mrs.
Allan (Helen) Hutchings land Gerald of
G erich and Mrs. John (Mary Grace)
g'dham of Port Elgin; three sisters, Ida of
oderich, Mrs. Jack (Anna) Patterson of
bro and Mrs. Harold (Gertie) Mutton of
odstock; one brother, Fred of Goderich;
12 grandchildren; and dear friend Mabel
Hawes and family of Edmonton.
A private family funeral service was held
at McCallum Funeral Homa in Goderich on
Friday, December 14. The Reverend G.L.
Royal of Knox Presbyterian Church
officiated.
Pallbearers , were John White, Jim
McDougall, Jim Finnie, Glen MacCuspey,
Paul Swarthout and Fred Patterson.
Flower bearers were Allan Hutchings,
Earl Kaufman, Jim Mutton and Gerry
Schram.
Interment was in the Maitland Cemetery,
Goderich.
MRS. MAY SPROUL
Mrs. May Sproul of R.R. 6 Goderich died
in Listowel Memorial Hoepital on Friday,
• December 14 at the age of 75.
. She was born in West Wawanosh
Township on December 11, 1909 to Edward
' and Emma (Russel) Robinson.
The late Mrs. Sproul was a member of
Nile United Church.
She was predeceased by her husband,
Howard Sproul, on August 28, 1983; and one
son, Gordon.
She is survived by two daughters, 'Mrs.
George (Eileen) Sillib of R.R. 6 Goderich
and Mrs. Delford (Louise) Schade of
Milverton; two sons, Delmar and Gary, both
of R. R. 3 Auburn; one sister, Mrs. Raymond
(Grace ) Roberts of Cass City, Michigan;
two brothers, Russell of Sarnia and James
of Pontiac, Michigan; six grandchildren;
and four great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was held at McCallum
Funeral Home in Goderich on Monday,
December 16 at 2 p.m. The Reverend John
D.M. Wood officiated.
Pallbearers were Delmar Sproul, Gary

MRS. MAUDE ETHEL AULD.
Mrs. Maude Ethel 'Auld of Goderich,
formerly of Toronto, died at her residence
on Friday, December 14 at the age of 78.
She was born in Port Colborne, Ontario on
August 22, 1906 to Albert and Emily
(Jackson) Byles.
She married William Fraser Auld in
Toronto on September 10, 1931.
The late Mrs. Auld was a' member of
North Street United Church in Goderich.
She was predeceased by her husband and
one brother, Albert Byles.
She is survived by four daughters, Mrs.
William (Elizabeth) Metcalfe of Burlington,
Vermont, Mrs. John (Janet) Lord of
Goodwood, Ontario, Mrs. Joe (Cathy) Davin
of Toronto, and Mrs. Jack (Susan) Hansen
of Thunder Bay; one sister, Mrs. Florence
Halpenny of Mississauga; one brother,
George Byles of Haileybury; and four
grandchildren.
The dy of the late Mrs. Auld rested at
Stiles F eral Home in Goderich. A funeral
service n committal were held at North
Street ited Church in Goderich on
Decem r 17 at 2 p.m. The Reverend Robert
O. Ball officiated.
Pallbearers were William Metcalfe,
Joseph Davin, John Lord and Jack Hansen.
Interment was in the Kincardine
Cemetery.

(KILPATRICK) VOADEN
Passed away at Toronto General Hospital
on Sunday, December 9, 1984 Violet
Kilpatrick Voaden, beloved wife of Herman
A. Voaden of Toronto. She was the daughter
of the late Joseph and Margaret (Sherwood)
Kilpatrick of Ashfield Township.
She is also survived by her sister, Mrs.
Ruby (Ross) Carter of Marathon, Ontario
and her sister-in-law, Annie, Mrs. John
Kilpatrick, Lucknow, nephew, Keith
Kilpatrick, Guelph, nieces Noreen, Mrs.
John Gray Belgrave Gladys Halhed, Ot-
tawa and Marilyn, Mrs. Bill Meaden, Lon-
don.
Funeral services were held at the Trull
Funeral Home, Toronto on Wednesday,
December 12, 1984 and at the Williams
Funeral Home, St. Thomas on Saturday
with interment to follow in the St. Thomas
cemetery.

Boyce of RR 1 Varna, died at Parkwood
Hospital in London on December 16. She was
84 years old.
Born in Stanley on April 30, 1900, she was
the daughter of Wilson Armstrong and
Catherine McClinchey.
She married Franklin Edgar Boyce in
London on July 20,1924. He died in 1982.
Mrs. Boyce is survived by seven children,
Mrs. Harry (Viola) Haskell of Hanover,
Mrs. Tom (Grace) Young of Goderich, Mary
•Garner of London, Harvey of London,
James of $'ayfield, Clayton of Goderich and
Kenneth of RR 1 Varna. Also surviving are
23 grand^-hildren and 10 great
grandchildren.
Besides her husband, Mrs. Boyce was
predeceased by one daughter Mrs. Merton
( Ila) Good, one son Franklin, three sisters
Mrs. Jack (Annie) Bryan, Mrs. Jack (Rose)
Collins, Mrs. Victor (Marjorie) Boyce and
five brothers William, Rainey, James,
Robert and John Armstrong.
Mrs. Boyce was a member of the Goshen
United Church. Rev. Wilena Brown
conducted funeral services on December 18
at Ball and Falconer Home in Clinton.
Interment followed in Clinton.
Pallbearers were four grandsons, David
Boyce of London, Larry Boyce of Thorndale,
Brian Carter of Hanover, Ernie Good of
Goderich and two nephews, Dalton and
Elgin Boyce, both of Goderich.
Exchange students attend lunch
Special guests at the Goderich Rotary F4ngland.
Club luncheon held at the Bedford Hotel on
Tuesday at noon were exchange students The speaker at the meeting was the
Valeria Benitez of Equador, , Luz Ma Reverend Robert Ball of North Street
Mendoza of Mexico and Charles Barter of United Church.
