46. In memoriam
MATHESON
Ir• loving memory of Phylis Jean Mathieson, who
passed away December 6, 1982.
God saw you getting tired,
When a cure was not to be,
So He closed His arms around you,
And whispered Come to Me".
You suffered much in silence.
Your spirit did not bend.
You faced your pain with courage.
Until the very end.
You tried so hard to stay.
Your fight was all in vain.
God took you to His loving home.
Arid freed you from all pain.
Sadly missed by husband, Ron, Valerie, Nicole,
Jon. Bob. Lilly, Scott, Angela and Mark. 49x

TAKE OVER 111/2 a/o MORTGAGE
MVCA did fine job on
history book of Maitland
Dear editor,
I have just finished reading Windings. A
History of the Lower Maitland River.
As a semi-professional historian (whose
field of interest lies elsewhere) I was very
much impressed with the quality of the work
and research that Mrs. Beecroft displayed
in this book. As a ling -time resident of
Goderich Township/it was a delight to find
so much of the real history of the area within
the covers of one rather small booklet. Mrs.
Beecroft achieved what few of us do who
write; conciseness, clarity, good detail,
human interest and readability in few
words.
The Maitland Valley Conservation people
are to be congratulated on the idea of
publishing this booklet as well as on their
choice of author.
No home within ten miles of the Maitland
River from its sources to its mouth should
be without this book. It is among the best of
its kind that I have seen.
Sincerely,
Ewan Ross
