Club holds
Due to unforeseen circumstance, the 34th
anniversary celebration of the. "Helping
Hands" Club had to be postponed until
November 29,at 7:30 p.m.
The anniversary celebration was held at
the residence of Mr. and Mrs. J.H.
Johnstone. The rooms were decorated
throughout, and since Christmas is so near,
the meeting became a Christmas party.
Mrs. Johnstone read the Christmas story,
then all repeated the Lord's prayer.
A short business meeting followed.
Numerous visits to patients and shut-ins at
the hospital, Maitland Manor and Huron -
view were. reported. Sympathy and get well
cards were sent out. Two donations were
sent to the Scott Mission.

Contests were held. Mr. Johnstone came
in first and Mrs. J. Baechler second. All pre-
sent 'received a gift. The guessing contest
was Wqn by Mrs, P. Stokes. She also won the
door Drize.
A bountiful lunch was served. Mr.
Johnston presented a gold box containing a
splendid donation from the "Helping
Hands" to Mrs. Carroll to assist in the work
of Suncoast Enterprises.
Before departure, all joined hands and
sung their theme song, "Abide With Me".

Retired cabinet maker dies in hospital
WILLIAM JOHN STEWART
William John Stewart of Goderich,
formerly of Kincardine, died in Alexandra
Marine and General Hospital, Goderich on
Wednesday, November 28 at the age of 84.
He was born in Kincardine on July 1, 1900
to Archibald and Martha Elizabeth
(Walker) Stewart.
The late Mr. Stewart was a retired cabinet
maker. He was.a member of Northern"Light
Lodge no. 93 A.F. & A.M. G.R.C. and
Penetangore Lodge no. 172 I.O.O.F. He was
an adherent to St. George's Anglican
Church, Goderich.
He married the former Haidee Veitch of
Kincardine on September 2, 1929 in Ripley.
She survives him.
Also surviving are one daughter, Mrs.
Robert K. (Catherine) Allen of Goderich;
even grandchildren, Mrs. David ( Patricia)
Brereton of Goderich, Mrs. Sandy
(Heather) McArthur of Victoria, British
Columbia, Brian, Gary and Donna Allen, all
of Goderieh, Mrs. Jim (Roberta)
Schram of
Vancouver and Deborah Allen of Kitchener; ...
nme great-grandchildren; and one sister,
Mrs. Isabel Hart of Goderich.
He was predeceased by three brothers,
Harry, Bob and James; and one sister,
Louise. -
A funeral service was held at Stiles
Funeral Home in Goderich on Friday,
November 30 at2 p.m. The Reverend Robert
J. Crocker of St. George's Anglican Church
officiated.
Pallbearers were two grandsons Brian
and Gary Allen, and David Brereton, David
and Paul Steep, and Darrell Poulton.
Honorary pallbearers were Wilbert
Burnside and Mac Webster.
Interment was in the Kincardine
Cemetery.
Northern Light Lodge no. 93 held a service
at the funeral home on Thursday evening,
Novell iber 29 at 8:45 p.m.
JAMES JOHN ERRINGTON
John James Errington of Lucknow passed
away on November 22, 1984 at Wingham and
District Hospital after a brief illness, at the
ageof85.

Township, he was a member of Dungannon
L.O.L. 324, the Dungannon Senior Citizens
group and Dungannon United Church.
Born in Penrith Cumberland, England, on
November 23, 1898, he was a son of the late
David Errington and Sarah Bell of England.
He is survived by his wife, the former
Evelyn Culbert, whom he married on
November 23, 1927 at the home of the bride's
parents in West Wawanosh Township. He is
also survived by one son, George, daughter-
in-law Jean and two grandchildren, Bill and
Betty.
The funeral service was conducted from
the MacKenzid and McCreath Funeral
Home in Lucknow on November 24, 1984 at 2
p.m. by Rev. R.J. 'Roberts of Dungannon
United Church.
Flowerbearers were Calder Patterson,
Harvey Culbert, Harold Culbert, and Harold
Errington.
Pallbearers were Eldon Culbert, Thomas
Culbert, Laverne Culbert, Thomas Young,
Gordon Nivins and Earl Nivins.
Burial in Dungannon Cemetery.
MRS. MARJORIE SPIEGELBERG
Mrs. Marjorie Spiegelberg of Goderich
died in St. Joseph's Hospital, London on
Wednesday, November 28 at the age of 69.
She was born in East Wawanosh Township
on March 9, 1915 to Albert and Amelia
( Barkley) Campbell.
The late Mrs. Spiegelberg had been a
registered nurse at the Clinton Public
Hospital for 26 years, retiring in 1979.
She was a member of North Street United
Churcn in Goderich and; the UCW of that
church.
She is survived by her.husband, Arthur
Spiegelberg; four children, Barkley of
Washington, D.C., Bryan of London, Anne
McCartney of Goderich an llar( sof
London; two brothers, Ken Cdmpbell. of
Dungannon and Don Campbell of Goderich;
o sister, Jean Abel of Fingal; and nine
randchildren.
A funeral service was held at McCallum
Funeral Home in. Goderich on Saturday,
December 1 at 2 p.m. The Reverend Robert
0. Ball of North Street United Church
officiated..
Interment was in the Maitland Cemetery,
-Goderich.

Mrs. Irene Kelly of Goderich died at her
home on Friday, November 30 at the age of
77.
She was brn in Toronto on April 14,1907.
The late Mrs. Kelly was a member of
Knox Presbyterian Church in Goderich.
She was predeceased by her husband,
Robert H. Kelly on February 5, 1984. She
was also predeceased by one sister, Annie
Dobson and one brother, James Skinner.
She is survived by five sons, Donald,
James and Robert, all of Toronto, Gordon of
Brisbane, Australia, and John of Goderich;
and 12 grandchildren.'
A funeral service was held at McCallum
Funeral Home in Goderich on Monday,
December 3 at 2 p.m. The Reverend G.L.
Royal of Knox Presbyterian Church
officiated.
Pallbearers were sons Don, Jim and Bob,
and grandsons Paul and Jack Kelly.
Interment was in the Maitland Cemetery,
Goderich.

Room of the hospital beginning January 7
and running until February 25. There is no
charge for hospital staff or volunteers in the
program.
