COMMUNITY CALENDAR
NQVEMBER'28.OPEN HOUSE
Open House is being held for the opening of
the Alcohol Information Centre (Standard
Trust building, upstairs, Suite 202) on
Wednesday, November 28 between 4 and 7
p.m. The Open House will bean opportunity
for the public to find out more about the IN-
FORMATION CENTRE and Alcohol
Counselling Service. Everyone is welcome!
Refreshments will be provided. The Infor-
mation Centre is open Monday through Fri-
day, 9 a.m. to 5 .p.m. Sponsored by the
Alcohol Educational and Counselling Pro -
grain.
NOVEMBER 28 - VARIETY PROGRAM
A variety program will be held at the
McKay Centre for Seniors, Goderich. The
evening will feature music arranged by Mr.
Ed Stiles. Starting time is 8 p.m. Admission
is $1 per person and everyone is welcome!

DECEMBER 1 - SMOCKED CHRISTMAS
TREE DECORATIONS
Learn to make smocked Christmas tree
decorations! Learn three basic stitches and
go home with a beautiful Christmas Tree
Ball Decoration. The course will be held for
one day only on Saturday, December 1 at the
Goderich Recreation office, 166 McDonald
Street from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. The fee is $20
per person (all supplies included, lunch pro-
vided at $2 extra) . Please pre -register at the
Recreation Office by November 30.
DECEMBER 21- GOOD CHEER SKATE
A "GOOD CHEER SKATE" will be held on
Sunday, December 2 from 1 to 2:20 p.m. at
the Goderich Arena. Admission 4 one can of
food which will be donated to the Huron
County Christmas Buwhich is spon-
sored by Family and �i• u dren's Services.
The canned food will be distributed to heedy
families in the Goderich area for Christmas.
Come out and help those less fortunate than
you!
DECEMBER 3 - COLBORNE TOWNSHIP
RECREATION COMMITTEE
The Colborne -Township Recreation Com-
mittee meeting will be held on Monday,
December 3 at 8 p.m. at the Colborne
Township Hall. All those interested -in
hasbball please attend.
DECEMBER 5 - GINGERBREAD HOUSE
WORKSHOP
Learn to assemble and decorate and take
home a miniature gingerbread house! This
workshop will be held on Wednesday,
December 5 at 7 p.m. at the Victoria Public
School - Home Ec. Room. The cost is $10 per
person and includes all supplies. Please pre -
register at the Recreation Office, 166
McDonald Street by November 30.
DECEMBER 6 - EUCHRE PARTY
The Nile U.C.W. is holding a euchre party on
December 6 at the Nile Church at 8 p.m. Ad-
mission is $1 per person. Ladies please bring
lunch.
DECEMBER 8 - FUND RAISING
SEMINAR
The Goderich Recreation Department is
sponsoring a fund raising seminar for non-
profit groups to be held on Saturday,
December 8 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Guest speaker is Nancy Biggar -Smith from
Couple celebrate
Mr. and Mrs. Clement Desjardins of
Goderich were recently honoured on the
occasion of their 37th wedding anniversary.
A family dinner was enjoyed at the Blue
Fountain in Clinton. An anniversary cake
graced the table and was later served to the
guests at the home of Verna Glazier of
Clinton.

DECEMBER 8 - MUSIC BOOSTER BAKE
SALE
The Music Booster Club is sponsoring a
bake sale on Saturday, December 8 from 9
a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Suncoast Mall. Music
will be supplied. Sponsored by the Goderich
Music Booster Club.
DECEMBER 15 - SURVIVAL THROUGH
FRIENDSHIP BAZAAR
A Survival Through Friendship bazaar will
be held on Saturday, December 15 from 2 to
4:30 p.m. at St. George's Parish Hall,
Goderich. Christmas crafts, bake table, con-
signments welcome, nearly new and white
elephant table. Door prize! For more infor-

DECEMBER 27 - THF. MTIPPET SHOW
Make Christmas extra special this year!
Come along with us on a bus trip to The
Muppet Show On Tour at Cobo Hall in
Detroit on Thursday, December 27 (storm
date December 29). The cost is $26 per per-
son (includes admission and bus fare).
Children under 14 mat be accompanied by
an adult. Departure from arena parking lot
at 9:30 a.m. Arrival home - approximately
8:30 p.m. This trip is being sponsored by the
Goderich Recreation Department and you
must pre -register by December 14. This is a
