MCLEOD FREE METHODIST CHURCH November 11 has once again "called us to remember" many things - the fact that power-hungry men have tried desperately to conquer the world, leaving no one who could arise to successfully challenge their rule of authority no matter how cruel; also the fact that a tremendous price was paid in the life and death struggle to secure the freedom we are privileged to enjoy today. And, finally, the fact that we owe a great debt to those who paid that price for us. We are now moving on quickly to December 25, which also calls us to remember some things. Another "Mighty Foe", deadlier than any earthly despot, has been, and is, out to enslave every one of us for time and eternity. God knew so well that we were helpless to overcome him in our own strength. And, He loved us so much that He gave His only son to come to our world as a Babe in a manger, to enter into the Life and Death struggle for our Spiritual and Eternal well-being, know- ing full well, before He ever came, that it would cost Him death on the Cross to free us. You see, the Cross began in the Heart of 14.11."1.1.1111/11. RELIC3I0N 11, calls us to remember DABBER BINGO in Dublin Comm. No wonder a poet was inspired to write, "Such love, such wondrous love, That God should love a sinner such as 1, 0 wonderful is love like this." And finally, we need to remember that it is not enough just to sing Christmas carols and give Christmas gifts to loved ones and friends. We need to make room in our hearts for Him, love Him and serve Him every day of every year of our lives. Let us realize anew, how much we owe for love like His.
