Several great games were played, including a surpri ze victory for Robert Nau, who overcame the "invincible" club champion, Doug Brindley. Robert con- tinued to notch up two more wins. Other members on top form were Louis Stadeimann and son, Ben, who secured five victories in total. It was a profitable evening also for Bob Dick, Walter Gottschalk, Eric Hallam and Mark Maurer. Barry Page and Gerry Ross played a marathon duel, which resulted in a well-deserved win for Gerry. New faces to the club are always welcome, regardless of strength or ex- perience.
