A large crowd attended the 'Prelude to
Winter' fashion show held at the
Metropolitan Store at Suncoast Mall last
Thursday evening.
Children's wear was modelled by Julie
Pontes, Tabitha Stright, Jeremy Pontes,
Sheri Pontes and Jackie Bowen. Adult
fashions for both male and female were
modelled by store employees. These
fashions included casual wear, dresses, and
winter coats. There was also a segment on
the wet look'—clothes that look like black
leather but which are actually nylon or 100
per cent polyester.
Free coffee and cookies, provided by the
Country Bulk store in the mall, were offered
to those who attended. Door prizes were
donated by the other stores in the mall and
several lucky draws determined theawin-
ners.

you and your groups will be able to make
better use of us.
We have a story to tell; we need an
audience. We want to talk to groups, big or

The Goderich Lions Club kicked off its annual Canadian National Institute for the Blind can-
vass here last Thursday with Doug McCallum of Loudon, district administrator for the
CNIB, as special guest speaker at a club meeting. Shown left to right, Lions Club President
John Sully and CNIB Canvass Chairman Fred Durst chat about the canvass with Mr. Mc-
Callum and Lions Club Deputy District Governor John McInnes. The door-to-door canvass
will last until October 24 and funds collected with help visually impaired persons in this
