The roll call was answered by the members giving a handy hint to prepare a quick meal: The motto for this meeting was - "There is more to good shopping than being first to the bargain counter." This was prepared and commented on by Phyllis McTaggart. The minutes of the September meeting were read and approved. The president announced to the members that the Bicentennial pictures taken by Bob Henry for the history book were ready for any member wishing one. The topic of Family and Consumer Affairs was dealt with by Jean Schram. The GodericirW.I, were hosts to fellow In- stitute members from Dungannon and Tiger Dunlop. Ella Bogie of Tiger Dunlop branch introduced Margaret Pritchard of Goderich who entertained those present with some lovely thoughti o! autumn flowers and col- ors. Mrs; • Peggy,. Pardon of Dungannon favored with a reading entitled, "At the Ball Game.'' Some interesting history regarding the cabin at the museum, that was erected by the late Mr. Neal, was read to the gathering by Jean Schram, A meeting of the Historical Society was announced for October 24. Enterprising Seniors meet HOLMESVILLE - The Enterprising Seniors met last Thursday evening in the Community Centre with John Semple in charge. Alice Porter read the minutes of the last meeting in the absence of Charlotte Norman. Frank Yeo gave the treasurer's report. Bayfield seniors have accepted an invitation to join the Enterprising Seniors in - Holmesville on November 1. The president and first and second vice presidents will handle the entertainment. Frank Yeo will buy the prizes. The lunch committee includes Effie Yeo, Hilda Semple, and Mary Stirling. Blanche Deeves gave the card report. Gerald Orr read a poem on retirement and told of a recent trip he went on. Alice Porter gave a few readings. People report Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Jantzi who are the proud parents of a baby .boy. On Sunday morning at Holmesville United Church, Thanksgiving and communion were celebrated. The church was decorated with fall flowers. Jill Wheatley sang a solo accompanied by Verna Lobb on the piano. Bill Crawford and Murray Lobb received the offering. Congratulations to Elmer and Reta Potter on their 40th Wedding Anniversary. Birthday greeting were sung to one member. Mrs. Ila Crozier of Dungannon warmly thanked the Goderich Institute for the in- vitation to attend, and Mrs. Ruth Brock also extended the thanks of the Tiger Dunlop members. Helen Morley, Goderich Presi- dent, sincerely thanked all who attended the meeting or, helped with the program. The meeting closed with singing 0 Canada and the Institute Grace. Thelunch was serv- ed by the committee in charge, and a very successful sale of home-made ba}ing was held.
