Graduating students of GDCI
honored at annual commencement
Several graduating students of GDCI were honored for academic excellence at the annual com-
mencement exercises Friday. The winners include: (front row) Cathy Oke, the Eastern Star
Award; Jodi Kuran, the Ralph Switzer Scholarship awarded to a student entering a program of
service to the handicapped; Marjorie Siertsema; winner of the Peter Adamson Memorial
Scholarship for Grade 12 and Angela Schneider, winner of the Peter Adamson Memorial Scholar-
ship for Grade 10 and the Catholic Women's League Prize for French. The back row includes;
Heather Ann Stapleton; Ontario Scholar, valedictorian and winner of the Goderich Lions Club
Award and the William E Elliott Scholarship donated by the Rotary Club; Liz Vogt, Ontario
Scholar, and winner of the George Buchanan Music Award and the Neil Shaw Award for Grade 13
geography; Anita Lassaline, Ontario Scholar and winner of the Town of Goderich Award; -Elise
Lindsay, Ontario Scholar; Teresa Cannon; Ontario Scholar and winner of the W. 11. Robertson
Scholarship for highest marks in English and Cindy Hayward; Ontario Scholar and winner of the
Robert MacKay and A.J. Moore Memorial Scholarships, the Andrew and Rheta Scott Award, and

Jeff Feagan and Liz Vogt at
commencement exercises Friday
The 1983-84 winners of the Goderich and District Collegiate Institute's Staff Awards were Jeff
Feagan and Liz Vogt. The awards are presented annually to two graduating students who are
enrolled in an institution of higher learning and are judged on their academic standing, leadership
