Building permit approved for repair Town council has approved a. building permit for Frank Graham Contractors Ltd. to increase the roof pitch of the part of the Royal Bank that abutts the Schaefer's Ladies' Wear building on the Square to match the pitch of the Schaefer roof and eliminate an annual icing problem. The 'existing pitched roof allows large icicles to form and fall to the sidewalk endangering pedestrians. Several remedies have been tried in the past to no avail and the proposed new roof is the ultimate repair. The width of the repair will be 21 feet and will only cover the existing sloped roof. Complaint received about lot A complaint regarding the parking lot at Dr. Mario Cauchi's office, 27 Bruce Street, West, has been referred by town council to the Works'Committee for review. In a letter to council, Lawrence and Gladys McKnight write, "Due to the particular set-up of Dr. Cauchi's parking lot, cars can enter and exit anywhere. The Lawrences said they see this as a "dangerous situation" and suggest that Dr. Cauchi make an entrance to the parking lot on Bruce Street and an exit on Nelson Street. An alternative suggestion they give would be for Dr. Cauchi to enlarge his present parking lot with entrance across from their driveway at 22 Bruce Street and exit from itis office.
