The 23rd annual Farrish family picnic was
held under sunny skies on Sunday, August 5
at the farm of Jack and Mary Farrish,
Ashfield Township. Approximately 50
people were in attendance.
Prior to a smorgasbord supper, Wes and

follows: Kim Farrish, girls 5-8 years; Mark
Nobert, boys 0-4 years; Mathew Hoy, boys 5-
8 years; and Chris Farrish, boys 9-12 years.
Darlene Shelton won the ladies' kick -the -
slipper and Jim Farrish won the men's kick -
the -slipper. Hilda Farrish guessed the
correct number of jelly beans in the bag.
Nicole Nobert, daughter of Marcel and
Alma Nobert, was the youngest child
present at the picnic. Dave McLeod was the
eldest man present and Hilda Farrish was
the eldest lady present.
Don and Brenda McLeod and children,
Heather and Ian, from Manitoba, were the
family travelling the furthest distance to the
picnic.
Dale and Betty Farrish had the wedding
anniversary date closest to the picnic and
Maxine Adams had the closest birth date.
Bob Farrish won a prize for having the most
number of buttons on his clothing.
Following supper, a short business
meeting was held. Jim Farrish was re-
elected president for next year's picnic and
Joanne Buchanan was re-elected secretary -
treasurer. Wes and Marie Dignan will look
after the games, prizes and candy scramble
again.
The 1985 picnic will be held at the same
location on the first Sunday in August.
