It is indeed abeautiful evening for a special bccassion like this. I have been chosen to -speak to you on ,behalf of the 1983-84 graduating class as valedictorian and I am very proud and honored to do so. Wen you guys, it's, been nine yearCa you believe it? I am sure the graduates will " agree, it's been nine, let me think of a word...pleasant years. I'm sure there were days Mien the teachers could ring our. necks. But there were also probably those days that the teachers sighed a sigh a relief while ending a peaceful day with their clash. To me, there are three Main groups of people who have helped us to get where we are today. I'll start off with the ones who launched our learning careers in school, the teachers. It was 1976 and on one warm autumn day, 13 little, terrified children went to their first day of kindergarten in that big, tall school of Kingsbridge. I happened to be one and I was petrified! But when we saw a tall curly, redhead looping down at us, we all felt better! Mrs. Riegling was our first teacher who gave us that little push in the right direction and we were all grateful to her. She now lives in Alberta and we all hope she is happy and we thank her. Mr. Steffler, who I can't really remember, was our first principal and was succeeded by Mr_ Zyluk. In Grade 1 and 2 and also this past year, we had Mrs. Eedy, everyone's Turn to page 12 PAGE 11 s Maureen Stapleton Colleen Van Osch and Sean Wilson received the Father Mike Dalton Sportsmanship Awards at the St. Joseph's Grade 8 graduation ceremonies in Kingsbridge last Wednesday evening.
