Fond memories of school.
• from page 4.
played the teachers. Then we found out who
needed .the practice, didn't we guys? And
the school dances when the girls asked the
boys to dance–WOW, that was great! I
remember the tests that I forgot to study for
and the marks that showed it. My list goes
on and on. • All of us have our own special
memories that will never be forgotten.
Our success to this point has been possible
because of the help and guidance given to us
by our teachers, parents, and friends. We
have needed their encouragement,
scaldings, and pats on the back to show us
that our efforts have been worthwhile and
appreciated. To them we say, "Thank you."
Next year is a big step for us to take into
high school- We are back to being "the little
fishes in the big pond." All of the old fears
return. Will we get lost in school? What will
our teachers be like? Will we get along with
our classmates? Will we be successful in our
endeavors? Well, here we are–we :made it
the first time–SURE we'll do it again!
Each of us has a specific goal in mind,
whether it is to become a nurse, teacher,
farmer, or mechanic; with the continued
support of those close to us and our own
determination to achieve that goal, we will
succeed and make you proud of us.
Tonight vire say farewell to Colborne–to
the familiar faces and days gone by and
hello to the future -a future of. new
challenges and experiences. This future,
which we have been walking toward in the
. past, and step into today, is `burs to make of
it what we will.
Fellow graduates, I congratulate you on
your success, and wish you a1L,.the best in the
years ahead. I would like to leave you with
these thoughts,
If you think you are beaten, you are,
If you think that you dare not, you don't,
If you'd like to win, but you think you can't,
It's almost certain you won't:
If you think you'll lose, you've lost,
For out in the world you'll find °
Success begins with a fellow's will—
It's all in the state of mind. ,
If you think you are out -classed, you are;
You've got to think high to rise;
You've got to be sure of yourself before
You can ever win a prize.
Life's battles don't always go
To the stronger or faster man,
But sooner or later the man who wins
Is the man who thinks he can.
