Claire is a graduate of Goderich District Collegiate Institute and has accepted .a position with the Owl Day Care Centre in Kitchener. +++ DAVID CHARLES KALBFLEISCH David Charles Kalbfleisch, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Kalbfleisch of Varna, received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Administrative and Commercial Studies at the Spring Convocation of the Univeristy of, Western Ontario on May 12. David will continue his studies next year to.become a Chartered Accountant. Program available to businesses Owners and operators of small businesses for prospective businesses) should be aware of the Small Business Consulting Program operating out of the Business School of The University of Western do rio. This pro- gram, subsidized by the Ontario govern- ment, has provided low-cost consulting to London -area small businesses for over a decade. Student consultants, drawn from the Honours (HBA) and Masters I MBA) pro- grams, are available to solve problems in areas such as marketing, bookkeeping and production and to conduct feasibility studies for new businesses. The faculty. of Western's Business School is available to the student consultants for advice and information. As well, both the Business School computer system and the MVO library system are at the consultants' disposal. The intitial interview between the student consultant and the client is free. Based on the interview, the consultant will prepare and submit a detailed outline of the work to . be done and an estimate of the cost. The ac- tual cost will not exceed this estimate. Howeyer, if fewer consulting -days than estimated are necessary, less will be charg- ed. Approximately 40 percent of the funds re- quired by the program are provided by the Ontario llnistry of Industry and Trade. The balance of the operating expenses come from fees of $85 per consulting -day. On completion of a project, the client will receive a verbal or written report outlining the analysis of the problem and recommen- dations for its solution.
