WHAM T,HE 'NEW TAXES MEAN
TO HURON. .
Perhaps 'there are. few people in
thie county who have givert serious
thought or consideration as to how
the new tax of one mill on 01,a, dollar
an the assessed value on the. county-,
recently imposed by the Ontario gov-
ernment will affect the various mun-
icipalities. If so, the following fig-
ures taken from the report
of thh Metallization Commtitee of the
Counts Council, passed in June last,
will throw some light on the situation
and enable 'the :different municipali-
ties to prepare ler tha riset in taxes
they will have to meet this year:
The first column of figures is the
assessment and the second. the amount
of the additional tax that wilt have
to be raised.
