There is a staff of about
22 that ruin Point 'Farms.
Doug • MVlacEaeh.ern is
park superintendent and
his assistant is Don
Bucholtz. The clerk is
Doreen Anderson. in
addition to these, there
are staff that control the
gate, a maintainance
crew, three girls that
r.
provide visitors services,
and two security men.
The security men can
find it pretty hectic at
times, especially on long
weekends when young
people tend to get over-
enthusiastic; Some pants
have a liquor ban that
lasts until June 1, but

parks that don't. As a

exciting Victoria Day

Not all of the visitors to
Point Farms are young
people, however. Park

UCW meet
The June meeting of
Donnybrook United
Church Women (U.C.W.)
was held at the home of
Mrs. Ernest Snowden in
Lucknow on Tuesday
evening, June 10 with a
▪ good attendance.
Mrs. E. Robinson
opened the meeting with
the theme "To everything
there is a time."
Lula Weber led in
prayer and gave several
readings.
Mrs. Stuart Chamney
gave the secretary's
report. Mrs. R. Jefferson
took over for the
business.
The cookbook that the
U.C.W. is making was
discussed. A Life
Membership was
presented to Mrs. . E.
Snowden by Mrs. Stuart
Chamney.
A social time was
enjoyed with Mrs. R.
Beiman and Mrs. Hardy
assisting the hostess.
'Filsinger plays pedal
steel on two songs on the
albuni.
There is a photograph
of the group's members
on the front of the album
by Douglas Spillane and
artwork by a niece,
Sherry Johnston. It took
65 hours in the studio to
record the album and
four months to release it.
The final .product has
only been on sale for a
few weeks now in record
stores within a 35 to 40
mile radius of the
Goderich base. Group
members also ' carry
albums with them to their
various engagements and
have sold a lot of them
personally that way. A
few weeks ago, when they
were playing in Lucknow,
a man drove there from
Kincardine just, he said,
to buy an album.
The group is pl
with the sound of the
alburh but is'not about to
make any "wild
predictions" about how it
will sell. The first step,
they feel, is to get the
original songs played on
the radio. After that,
everything will depend on
radio reaction and
general support and
response from the public.
Meanwhile, the group
is not giving up its public
engagements. The
members, spend a lot of
time keeping up their
musical material and
working on their live
sound. They feel that live
sound is important
whether they are playing
from inside' a tent, a
dance hall or a gym- '
nasium.
In the near future there
are plans for releasing
another •.single and
sometime later another
Pasarj album with more original
music on it.
