Sailing weather was at
last near -perfect for the
weekend activities, and
some 10 keel boats and
two Lasers started the
Summer Sefies No. 2 on
Sunday.
With winds steady from
the South, and blowing
ov'6r 20 knots at the start,
some craft reefed mains,
or used a smaller jib.
However, the winds soon
steadied out around 15
knots and provided
perfect sailing for the
entire course, with full
sail and spinnakers for
the runs.
In the PHRF class only
Bridge scores
five seconds separated
the first two boats after
the time corrections were
done, with Bill Wark,
skippering the Soling
`TIKI" corning first and
George Robertson in his
new Abbott ''The
Entertainer" coming
second. Dick Taylor was
only four minutes behind
for third.
The MORC class had
Paul Parsons skippering
Dick Robartos' "Cherries
Aweigh.'' to a first place
finish over Steve
Youngblut in "Hawke".
Ken Bauer edged out Ken
Dawson by a mere four
seconds to take third
place.-
