a letter of thanks was

speaker. A letter was
read from Mrs. Hilda

to the Lee Homestead and
also a letter from Mrs.
Mathescin regarding the
display of needlepoint at
the Area Convention in
St.4Marys this October 27
and t28aMetter was read
from the foster Korean
chid, who is in the second
grade of school, thanking
the district for the sup-
port.- ,
Mrs. Porter gave the
president's message and
thanked all branches for
their support during the
past year.

Mrs. Matheson,
pr;o0ncial board
director, gave her report
of, the Federated
Women's Institutes of
Ontario and spoke on the
theme, The. Why, What
and Where of the W.I.?
She told about a W.I..
calendar which is going
to be available this fall.
She reported that there
are still W.I. song -books
available and told about
the activities at the Lee
Homestead a t Stoney
Creek for the coming
year.
Miss Gr4ce Bird, home
economist for Huron
County, reported a good
year for both senior and
junior activities. She
reported that 563 persons
had completed the indoor
gardening course, 657 the
"Final Touch project, 686
the Needlepoint project
and 700 the "Your Corner
of the'World" project for
the 4-H clubs. Crewel
embroidery will be
featured this fall with
interior decorating next
spring.
The report of the
-nominating committee
was given by the con-
vener, Mrs. Eleaner
Bradnock. Mrs. Leona
Lockhart of Clinton, the
resolution convener, gave
her report. No resolution
will be sent from Huron -
West this year.
Dinner was served by
the Canadian Auxiliary
Legion members and the
head table was in-
troduced by Mrs. Les
Jacklin of Maitland
Branch, first vice-
president. It included
+Mayor and Mrs. Harry
Worsell of Goderich, Mrs.
Hilda Payne and Mrs. T.
Bender of Huron -South,
