Dear Editor: him unclean by going into Thank you for your him'(NIV) statement in the May 14th Finally a comment on edition. Hopefully it will stop the debate con- cerning Jehovah's Witnesses and whether they can be truly called Christians from descending to a basement level. However, except for Mr. Barney who is blissfully ignoring all and is again talking about blool transfusions, it seems some are resorting to personal attacks, which may provide ,en- tertainment but very little else. Following is a com- ment on Mr. Barney's letter where he shows medical support for abstaining from blood, ineluding ----blood ira sfusions. That in the future, we will probably no longer have , blood transfusions will only confirm in Jehovah's Witnesses minds that they were 'right all the time in their belief that not accepting tran- sfusions is biblical (Acts 15 v. 20,29). Who is the master of deception behind this whole organization? The referral in Acts 15 to 'abstain from blood' in my understanding is referring back to Old Testament Law regar- ding the eating of animals. Man was never regarded as food, thus mention is „ omitted. If there were a new law to cover the blood of all flesh, why do Jehovah's Witnesses eat unbled fish for example? When blood is transfused, however dangerous the practice may be, it is not im- mediately digested as food, but acts as a body tissue which can aid in many life-giving func- tions. Hopefully Jehovah's Witnesses will refer to Mark 7 v. 15 `nothing outside a man can make HURON.
