cost for the upgrading
will be in the neigh-
borhood of $3,000.
"It has to be done," he
told the board. "We're
losing money because it
takes so long for staff to
walk 15 feet to get food for
customers and come
back with it, when it's
possible for stock to be
shelved under the counter
and pre -made hotdogs to
be kept ready and warm
in a steamer."

AM & G calls tenders
(Intended for last week)
The new psychiatric department at
Goderich's Alexandra Marine and General
Hospital was put out for tender this week, with
closing date June 24.
On that date, a special board meeting will be
held at noon to open tenders- and to make a
recommendation for a contractor to. build the
estimated $1.2 million dollar addition which
will become the third floor.
Some discussion was heard at Monday
evening's board meeting concerning the timing
of the tender closing. Since the new 1980-81
board will be elected at the annual meeting
June 23, it was felt that tenders should have
closed at noon June 23 rather than the next day.
It was explained by the building commmittee
chairman Bruce Potter that since there has'
been unusual delayin the Ontario Fire Mar-
shal's office where the plans have been
reviewed several times, the project was not put
out for tendering as early as originally an-
ticipated.
He said June 24 is the absolutely earliest date
Men's Auxiliary?
(Intendedfor last week)
It is possible that before too long, men will
become members of the hospital auxiliary at
Alexandra Marine and General Hospital.
At Monday evening's regular monthly board
meeting, it was learned that a group of men
have approached the hospital with a view to
assisting with the volunteer prograin there.
It was suggested that perhaps. the best
avenue- for these- men to ` follow would be
through the hospital auxiliary organization
which at the present time is an all -female
group.
"We're always looking for new members,"
agreed Auxiliary member and former board
chairman Jo Berry. "Perhaps, this is an area
that hasn't been tapped."
Charity McDonald, the Auxiliary's
representative on the board, said- some
Auxiliaries in larger hospitals do have male
members.
The board was reviewing the Auxiliary
bylaws at Monday's meeting. It was agreed to
approve the bylaws with the proviso that the
Auxiliary members consider dropping the
'women's' from the official group name.

NOTICE
Public Meeting
The Town of Goderich Parks Committee is
holding two public meetings to discuss the
possible development of certain parks in
the Town of Goderich.

1. Krohmer Park, Plan No. 42, Block A, June
5, 1980, 7:00 p.m., Council Chambers, Town
Hall, 57 West Street, Goderich.
the tenders could close to give sufficient time
for contractors to complete the necessary
requirements of the.tender.
Potter said that since the project will be
tendered in a lump sum, it would be a straight-
forward routine matter which the new board
should be able to handle without problem.
• The tender itself would be subject to approval
by the ministry of health, Potter added.
