your clubs along and
have a game after and
wear off the discomfort of
having over -eaten?
Doesn't everyone feel
that way after?
For those of us who still
occasionally whiff the
ball - and are completely
astounded that all that
effort did nothing except
jolt every bone in our
body, take heart! This
excerpt gleaned from
some trivia, courtesy of a
friend, Might make you
feel better. Quote - "The
legendary Harry, Vardon
at the 1900 U.S. Open,
completely missed the
ball on a six inch putt -
but still managed to win
the title."
How's that for signing
off, on an encouraging
note !

wrap up first place in the soccer standings. They
ended the season with five wins and a tie in six
games and played Central Huron in the semi-final
here Tuesday. (photo by Dave Sykes)

Thursday Ladies' Night
was guest and food night,
and even though showers
were threatening, a good
number of ladies hiked
off to different holes for
the shot -gun start of our
first 4 -ball -best -ball.
Some girls were golfing
for their first time ever
and were well initiated
into this game of fun (and
frustration) as the rain
poured down,, after six
un golf
holes of play. Most of us
ran for cover, but a few
braved the elements and
finished their game. A
most scrumptious pot-
luck supper followed.
The winners of this
event 'were: Thora

A very special thanks
to Ellen Connelly for
organizing this very
successful social evening.
