The winners were: first flight, Shelagh Sully, Maxine Martin and putting, Doris Paquette; second flight, Verna Kane, Janet Gemmill and putting, Joan McDougall; third flight, Auleen Curry and putting, Verna Frith, fourth flight, Chris Thomas, Nonie Collier and putting Joanne Jasper. Closest to the pin on No. I was Hazel Beaver. On Monday, May 26, 40 men turned out for men's night. The top net win- ners were Rick Fisher, Ken Hall, Don MacEwan, Bill Stiles, 'Ross McDaniel, Tim , Elli'ottt ' and Stan Paquette. The "Spring Fling" dinner and dance was a sell-out on Saturday, May 31. The dinner was . ex- cellent and everyone had a terrific time. That was Debbie's last endeavour at the club and we all wish . her well in the future. Thanks Debbie from all of us and a *arm welcome to Sue Prest, who is replacing her sister. First - flight - winners, Little Plumbers lose tough one to Waterlog The Goderich Hoff- meyer Little Plumbers lost their -second game of the Ladies Intermediage. •• Fastball League drop- ping a 4-1 decision to Waterloo in Waterloo last Wednesday. It was tough loss for the Plumbers as their offence produced one run on nine hits while Waterloo put together four runs on an eight -hit offence. The teams were tied 1-1 after four .innings...of-play but Waterloo broke it open with a three -run rally . in the fifth that clinched the victory. Waterloo took the early lead scoring a single run in their half •' of the first inning. The Little Plumbers ' got that one back in the fourth inning as'Heitther Cowan led Oft, with a double and scored on Sue Kolkman's single. The tie stood -until the bottom of the fifth when Waterloo struck for three runs on three hits. Cowan and Sandy Rowe led the Goderich batters with two hits apiece. Cowan doubled and singled iii four at bats and scored the only Plumber run. Rowe added two singles. The Little Plumbers home game here Friday was rained out and that contest against Moorefield will be rescheduled. On Tuesday evening they played in Shakespeare and the next home game will" be ' at Agriculture park, Friday June 6 against Sahkesp'eare. Thursday Ladies' Night was guest and food night, and even though showers were threatening, a good number of ladies hiked off to different holes for the shot -gun start of our first 4 -ball -best -ball. Some girls were golfing for their first time ever and were well initiated into this game of fun (and frustration) as the rain poured down,, after six un golf holes of play. Most of us ran for cover, but a few braved the elements and finished their game. A most scrumptious pot- luck supper followed. The winners of this event 'were: Thora McCabe and Bunny LeBlanc, Joyce Bolton and Marg Debolt, Mary Lynne Telford and Sue Muir. A very special thanks to Ellen Connelly for organizing this very successful social evening. Ther Sunset will be hosting the Ladies' District Better -Bali Four - Ball on Wed., June 11, therefore the course will be closed from 10 a.m. to Another Twg-Ball party is coming up on June 7 at 4 p.m. Nine holes of golf will be played followed by an Italian Night.
