Bar- ney, and N.J. Minaker of April 23, 1980. Both writers are way off base when it comes to either the teachings or origin of the Watchtower and or the Bible. Minaker is most assuredly poking fun at Barney and his comments are not worthy of comment. Barney alleges that Christians are shedding "crocodile tears" for the Jehovah's Witnesses. He just refuses to believe that.. .._._boon -.again. Christians have a genuine concern for Jehovah's Witnesses, and this due to the brainwashing he received from the Watchtower publications. Barney just keeps beating around the bush, and never answers anything at all! Like all of Jehovah's Witnesses, he is an expert at "Bible leap -frog" • (picking verses out here and there with no regard to context or historical setting) and interprets the Bible according to pre- conceived Watchtower opinion. They attack the Bible teachings on the Diety of Christ by this "leap frog" method. One of the strongest proofs for the Deity of Christ is the fact that our Saviour was worshipped by both men and angels. What are we to think of, a religion thatclaims in one breath to be the only true religion in the world today, yet turns about and says that -it is wrong and sacrilegious to worship Christ! This is precisely the position of the J.W's. The following evidence will conclusively show that J.W.'s do indeed deny worship to Christ. In the Watchtower of January 1, 1950,. page 30, this question appears in the Question from Readers section: "Should we worship Jesus?" The Watchtower takes nearly two pages of fine print to answer this all-important question and then gives this conclusion: "Con- sequently, since the scriptures teach that Jesus Christ is not a trinitarian co -person with God the Father, but is a distinct person, the Son of God, the . answer to the above question must be that NO DISTINCT WORSHIP IS TO BE RENDERED TO JESUS CHRIST NOW GLORIFIED IN HEAVEN." The Watchtower Society denies worship to Christ because they abhor and despise the glorious Bible truth that Jesus Christ is indeed the Lord God. For it is written in Exodus 34:14 and Matt. 4:10, that it is only God who is to be worshipped. Scriptures which prove Christ was worshipped are Matt. 8:2; Matt. 9:18; Matt. I5:25;., Matt. 14:33; Matt. 28:9. In clear un- mistakable -- alnrguage these scriptures inform us that Christ did indeed receive worship. Sincerely DYo'Haeners for the Help Jesus Ministry, Lambeth, Ontario. With interest.. • from page 6A Is this one of the well- founded proofs of this doctrine? Based on the testimony given so far, what's my verdict of the trinity? ...It's scriptural proof is ethereal, its supporting evidence is a philosophy, its logical argument is obscure, and its proof is . an opinion. The supporters resort to diabolical tactics to substantiate it and defend the indefensible. At best it is a superstition with a mythical basis and its roots in paganism. What's my verdict of the trinity?...May it rest in peace. Sincerely yours, Ken Snyder.
