Alexandra Marine and
General Hospital - , on
Tuesday, May 6 at the
age of 65. •
She was born in West
Wawanosh Township on
March 9, 1915 to Samuel
and Louisa . (Alun)
Young. She attended
school in 'West
Wawanosh;
She married Russel
Reed in Dungannon and
lived in Ashfield Town-
ship until moving to
Godericli in 1961.. She was
her
husband in 1974.
She was an adherent of
North Street United
Church, Goderich.
She is survived by one
son, ,Leonard R. Reed of
R.R. 1 Dungannon; one
sister, Mrs. Edna Raith-
by of London; and two
grandchildren.
Shewas. predeceased
by one sister, Olive
Young.
A funeral service was.
held for the late Mrs.
Reed on Friday, May 9 at
2 p.m. at Stiles Funeral
Home in Goderich. The
Reverend Robert 0. Ball
officiated.
Interment was in Ball's
Cemetery, Auburn.
Pallbearers were
Kitchener Finnigan, Cliff
Ronson, Elvin Adkin and
George Raithby.

Albert Frederick (Red)
Riehl of 151 Bruce Street
East, Goderich -and
formerly of Saltford
Heights, died in
Alexandra Marine and
General Hospital on'
Monday, May 5 at the age
of 75.
'He was born in Walton
on August 22, 1904 to
Charles and Lydia
(Thayer) Riehl'. Ile at-
tended school in Walton
and later worked as a
cement contractor,
retiring in 1963.
He Was a member of
Victoria Street United
Church in Goderich.
On May 5, 1934 he
married Catherine
McGuire in Goderich. She
survives him.
Also surviving are six
children, Dr. Benson
Riehl of Moncton, New
Brunswick, Mrs. Norval
(Shirley) Smith of
London, Reginald of
Saltford Heights, Gerald
of Exeter, Andy of
'Porters_ Hill and. Donald
of Stratford; three
sisters, Mrs. Liz Machan
of Blyth, Mrs. Sophie
Glouscher of Goderich
and. Mrs. Mary Seiling of
Blyth; one brother, Bill
Riehl of Blyth; and 19
grandchildren.
He was. predeceased by
one son, Dougald in 1937
(twin of Donald); by one
sister, Carrie; and by
three brothers, George,
Dan and Wilf.
A funeral service was
held for the late Mr. Riehl
at Stiles Funeral Home
on Wednesday, May 7 at 2
p.m. The Reverend John
D.M. Wood officiated.
Interment wasin the
Maitland Cemetery.

Pallbearers were
Archie Hamilton,
Toynbee Lamb, Murray
East, Allan Ball, John
Edwards and John Moss.

get raise
EXETER - Salary in-
crease of approximately
11 per cent have been
approved for most town
employees by the Exeter
town council.
Police Chief Ted Day
heads the salary list with
an increase inhis salary
to $24,000 a year.
The G.D.C.I. Intermediate Band, under the direction of Hugh McGregor,
performed for Goderich residents last Wednesday night, along with fellow
students, the concert they gave at Western High in Auburn, Michigan. The
American students will be arriving in Goderich on May 15 to complete the
exchange and will be performing for the public on Friday evening. (photo by

time since its Centennial
in 1975, when on May 31,
2,'000 Shriners will
celebrate their spring
ceremonial.
The Shriners, from
area clubs and from
d7ranches as far away as
"Ohio and Michigan, will
be in Clinton and
Goderich to honor Spence
Cummings, of Clinton,
who has been chosen to
serve as the club's
Potentate and also install
over 100 new Shriners. It
is the first time in 17
years that the ceremony
has been held in Huron

A one act play, entitled 'Them' which deals with the problem of
mental retardation brought tears to spectators' eyes last Wed-
nesday night as G.D.C.I. drama students performed for Goderich
residents during Music Night. The school bands along with the
